I just posted this on the NWR board to the same topic but I think it's something that's important enough to do twice. This is extremely gracious of Kerry. He could have pulled a Gore and dragged this out at the ultimate expense of the American people. Instead he took the high road when he looked at the numbers and realized that they just weren't there for him. I am a Bush supporter and am extremely happy with the outcome but I tip my hat to John Kerry for this concession.

trying to keep this the 'no spin zone', but no matter which side you go for, you have to give it to Kerry for being a gracious candidate and a tough one! he really went all out campaigning and is being a real gent not to get lawyers involved, etc. (i take all this back if he does turn out to use them-haha.)

I give it to Kerry though. He was gracious and classy and I am glad he did that. I believe Kerry is a nice guy.

And actually, Bush was not going to give a speak (according to the press reports) to give Kerry time to see his options thru. Plus his speach is at 3pm and Kerry's at 1pm. I think that's a fair amount of time.

I am truly frightened. There will be 4 or 5 very conservative appointees made to the Supreme Court.

Stem Cell Research
Social Security will be privatized which will give more power to a select few Wall Street companies.
For all of you that make less than $200K a year, your taxes are going up while those making more than that will go down.

There will be a draft. There already is... An officer from Jericho, LI was killed in the past few days. His father begged him not to go on his THIRD tour. Our men and women in Iraq don't even have the proper radios or flax jackets. They are riding around in vehicles with plywood on the side for protection because our government didn't order fully equipped armored vehicles because they didn't think they'd be there that long. Reminds me, Napoleon didn't outfit his troops with winter uniforms and the Russian winter caused 500K out of 600K to either die lor desert. He didn't think the Russian campaign would take that long. Hmmmm? Something to think about.

The war on terror will never be won. It is a fact of life. I lived in Irish Republican Army territory. We now just have to manage it but there were other things we could have prevented but I guess the above is not important to the American people.

I am truly saddened and fearful that the American ideals so many have given their lives for in the past 100 plus years will be overturned very quickly.
