graduated and realized that i will be working 49 hour weeks soon and moving into apartment with fiance above in laws house ...
i could leave him in charge of laundry since he has an extra 9 hours a week but i have a feeling his mom will end up doing it which would piss the hell outta me
so i was thinking .. back in the day i dated this guy in queens who had his everyday laundry cleaned for him!! he brought it to a place and picked it up later on -cleaned, dried, folded or on hangers - even his underwears!!! he paid by the pound. should i just call laundry places and see if they do it - what is it called 'laundry service?' ... i dont want a laundromat right - thats when u do it yourself there.. and its not dry cleaning- i want regular cleaning done..
any one know where i can go (Levittown-east meadow-bethpage -plainview areas )or what its called when i call? i dont want to sound like a dope ' will you wash my clothes and i pay per pound?
hope this makes sense!!!
thanks brides!!

Re: NWR: laundry
You can try your local Laundromat. They usually have that service. Go to different ones and see how the other customers' clothing comes out.
You can also look in your local Pennysaver or those coupon packets that come inthe mail.

Okay, so on Jerusalem Ave. just north of Hempstead Turnpike (on the right in you're heading north) there's a laundromat. It's a shopping center with Father Flannigan's, La Foccacia, a vet, etc. I used to do my laundry there but after watching them for a year I started dropping it off. Now my FH and I drive from Jericho there every week because they are great. It's about 70-75cents a pound. They fold, steam, hang, etc. I've never had anything go wrong and they're fast!!! GREAT place!

I tell everyone about this laundromat. They're amazing. My clothes come back perfectly folded into these tiny little squares. SO easy to put away!
Anyway, we each take ours in seperate bags just because it's easier to carry/put away but mine, with my towels and my pillow case and bottow sheet, is about $11-$13 per week. My FH is a huge guy so his are a bit heavier but never more than $19/week. It's great solely for them folding it so nicely.
It's usually 3-5 hours after you drop if off during the week but we take ours late Fri night and get it Sat. morning. It's just a few hours or overnight typically!
Good luck - I love this place (if you can't tell!). Let me know how you make out!

Re: NWR: laundry
I send my laundry out every week and it is a wonderful thing. I have been using the same local laundramat in my neighborhood (Bensonhurst) for years now and they know exactly how I want everything done. I call them, they come pick it up from my house and deliver it back the next evening...unless I call for a morning pick up then they bring it back the same day. I even have two bags one for the clothes, towels, sheets, etc that are to be dried and folded and the other for clothes I want brought back wet so that I can hang them to dry. Try it...it is wonderful and one less chore to do.
