NWR : Major vent

NWR : Major vent

Is it possible to plan a wedding w/o a job.... I have never been so stressed as I am today. I have a sleazy sneaky stealing boss who has been reported to Dept. Of Labor, and since last night have done nothing but fear for my future income I have a feeling this place is going down hill fast and I will never be able to find a job fast enough. I'm a very part time hair stylist, due to economy reasons, and had to take this job to make ends meet and they are barely meeting as it is. If this place goes belly up I think we are in big big trouble. And I really don't know how this weeding will follow.

Which I know should be the least of my worries but its running threw my head non-stop. Going from being so excited to finally get married to now worrying if we can pull it off.

This sucks, sorry for being a Debbie downer right now. I just don't wanna bring it up to my mother cause she's already becoming a momzilla and she's horrible in these situations. And I know my FH is worried too so I don't want talk too much with him since he's trying stay calm and be strong.

I am so sorry you are going through this!!!

My advice would be to start applying to salons now, just in case your job falls through... and do you really want to stay there anyway? I say get out now.

As far as planning a wedding with out a job, that would depend if you are paying for it on your own. If you have help from parents you maybe able to swing it by cutting back on a few things, but if you are on your own I don't think it's possible sorry

I offically started the endless resume sending last night just to start, since it took forever to find this one. Getting some help moneywise from my parents I know they would do anything they could to help us, IF it came to it. I just don't wanna put that on them.

Sorry I guess I just needed to get it out, didn't mean to bring the mood down for the day

If you are willing to work in Customer Service, evenings and weekends, FM me. I am a Recruiter with a large LI based company and am hiring.

Thank you soo much, however I don't actually live in L.I. and I don't have a car either so that might be a problem.

I am sorry that you are dealing with this. I agree that you should start looking now for a new position.

Other thing that you may want to consider is speaking with Cresthollow and any of your other vendors and see if you are able to push off the wedding a year. If you tell them now they may be willing to apply your deposits to a new date.

A wedding is obviously a great day in your life but I would have to start off your marriage in debt or stressed because you really should not have spent the money.

My FBIL and FSIL had gotten married by a justice of the piece and then a year later they had the full wedding.

Maybe think about something like this. Wedding planning should be the source of happiness not stress!

i asked my FH about pushing the wedding back alil just to be on the safe side and he actually 'shushed' me lol his words were 'you still have the job right now, IF we get to that we will when we need to' so i guess he's playing the waiting (risky) game.

sorry your dealing with this. I would say start looking now and not wait till the company goes down hill. Just b/c it took forever to find a job the last time doesn't mean it will happen again this time. You might get lucky! Good Luck your more than a year away from your wedding, maybe you can hold off on booking other vendors until you find somethign stable without having to postpone your wedding

So Sorry sweety! Try to live in the day, after all it's only what we are guaranteed. It sounds hard but will keep you less stressed. So just for today do what you can to find a job. At least at the end of the day you will know you do everything you can and that should calm down your nerves a little. It's always good to have a back up plan and be open minded to any other possible jobs that you'll be able to get to without a car. Good Luck. I'll say a prayer!

Just keep in mind the more time you have the more negotiating power you have with vendors. If you go to them now and ask to push it off they are more likely to help out because they have a lot of time to rebook that date. The longer you wait the less likelyt hey are going to be to work with you.

I know that there are payments due over the next few months for crest hollow. Just remember the more that they have the more you have to stand to loose.

thanks everyone :)

i understand the whole putting it off idea and i did bring it up last night but my FH is very against that idea. he just keeps saying its jumping the gun and if worse comes to worse we will make it happen with my one crappy job and his good job. i guess we will just have to talk more about it tonight and this weekend.

i lost my teacher's aide postion last week and i have been subbing in my home school district just to bring in more money. I have to sub until the end of the year which is fine i make more money as a sub teacher anyway but i thank god i have my second job part time as a produce clerk at king kullen in hewlett and i have a job in the summer but i too have started looking for other schools to sub at next year because i can't just sub at one district. So i agree so start looking for another job ASAP . I am not paying for the whole wedding myself with FH thank god for that but the things that we are paying for our selves we have cut corners were we could . Try to cut corners and do alot of DIY.
