on a Sunday!! I work in a middle/hs in the Admissions office. I've only been there since Sept and its a Mon-Fri type deal NOT a weekend job whatsoever. Last week I had to work while she was away(which I was pretty annoyed with to begin with-it was me and the maintenance staff for the most part when everyone else was off on vacation including my boss) and I emailed her a report I had done. Apparently her email box was full so she never received it....I'm not sure why she was calling me since I cant email the report from home. She said if I was around to call her back and see if I can get the report to her. I mean she doesnt really need the report until tomorrow...so I'm just a little confused. Plus if the report is wrong I am going to have to work with her on the phone to fix it?? She said at the end of the message that if I dont get the message to not worry about it and I will see her tomorrow. This is NOT where I want to be with a job...I mean I know the economy sux and I'm happy to have a job but I literally make peanuts...couldnt find a job with my Masters in school counseling so I am going back to school in Sept for my Masters in special education. So basically this is just a 'for now' kind of job...dont get me wrong I work REALLY hard at my job and go beyond for everyone there. I decided not to call her back after speaking about it with FH...I just feel like it's not life or death and it could wait until tomorrow. Plus I think I need to kind of put a boundary between work and personal life(unless it was extremely important of course). I just wanted to see if anyone had to deal with something similiar and what your thoughts are on it? TIA!

I think you were right not to call her back. But a job is a job and im sure some people who lost theres would kill for your position even if it is peanuts. So dont get frustrated.

I don't know, if my boss calls me on a Sunday I don't mind so much. It's part of life and sometimes I have to work more than my 45 hours per week.
I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who are unemployed and would give anything to have a boss call them up on a Sunday.

I agree its not that bad, i would understand if it was something that happened constantly but a one time thing it happens sometimes. Ive had alot worse situations, even being made to work on weekends or staying until late at night even though i was at work before 8am and not getting paid over-time and dealing with a boss that yelled for every little thing.
While its annoying that you got a call on your day off, she did say if anything she'll just get it tomorrow so not like she said you HAVE to get it to her that day. She probably had alot to do the next day and just wanted to read it on sunday just to get that part out of the way and not waste time on it the next day just to read the whole thing.
Take it frome someone who is going crazy to find a job, things could be worse.

I think stuff like this is a test. The economy is so bad right now and some bosses are testing their employees to see who they can't and can count on.
