NWR: Need your advice quickly

NWR: Need your advice quickly

Girls....

I am so frustrated! I had an awesome job interview at an awesome company yesterday with the head of HR. A friend works there and ran into the woman I interviewed with and the woman was RAVING about me and told my friend to tell me not to take any other offers while she sets up more interviews for me.

In the meantime, I went through a recruiter to get the interview and the recruiter has been home sick with a migraine everyday this week. So everytime I call her at home to get an update, she moans and says 'yes the interview went great and she wants you back, but my head is killing me so I will call you back later'...

I have a 'summer Friday' this week and it would be a perfect time to go on these interviews, so I am eager to set something up - I am afraid of losing my current job if I have any more 'dr's appts' and have to be out of the office.

My question is...do I wait for my recruiter to set this stuff up (WHENEVER that is), or can I contact the company / HR person directly to try and do it??

hmm tough call. how many 'sick days' have you taken?

IMO, I would take matters into your own hands. Who knows how long this recruiter will be feeling under the weather. Like you said, if you can't be taking anymore 'dr appts' you really don't have much of a choice. Good luck to you!

Can you call your friend and explain the situation with the recruiter? Maybe your friend can have the HR person call you directly to set up the interviews.

I might do that...I just don't want to step on anyone's toes

I agree...this way it also puts the ball in the company's court...and it's not you reaching out to them directly and stepping on the recruiter's toes.

Good luck to you!

How about contacting the person who interviewed with you to thank them for the interview? If the recruiter is pissed, just tell them it's just good etiquette and you would have told her but didn't want to bother her while she's sick?

I usually did regular thank-you cards or a letter instead of a phone call. Less intrusive. That might prompt them to call your recruiter or you directly?
