NWR: Nicole Ritchie

NWR: Nicole Ritchie

Is Lionel Ritchie her birth father?

Ricky (FI) - said that it's not...that it's some member of his band's daughter who passed away and Lionel ended up adopting her...

I can't find anytning on the web...

Duh...just found it:

Nicole was born in Berkeley, California. Her biological father is widely rumored to be musician Pete Escovedo, brother of 1980s pop percussionist Sheila E. and son of famed Latin percussionist Pete Escovedo, but this was directly denied by Nicole in the November 2005 issue of Jane magazine.

According to an April 2006 Tatler magazine interview with Nicole, her biological father was a drummer who worked with Lionel Richie; Her biological mother was a backstage assistant for Lionel. When Nicole was three, Lionel and his wife Brenda Harvey-Richie informally adopted her and raised her as their daughter. When she was nine, they went through the legal formalities of the adoption; She still speaks with her biological mother.

Yep - same.

I also learned on E! True Hollywood Story that Lionel Ritchie wrote 'Ballerina Girl' for Nicole...which I think is soooo sweet!

But, do you know who looks like Lionel Richie? Adam from Real World. He claims that his father was a member of the 'Commodores' where Lionel was the lead singer. HMMM..... Maybe they need to do a DNA test to see if his papa is really his true papa. It not like Lionel has never cheated.

Before Nicole was on TV, Lionel Ritchie had already told people that they had adopted her. I have known that for years. I guess it was not common knowledge. She was still a young teen when I read about it.

I have known about this for a long time. I found out when the first season of Simple Life came out. I new nothing about her until then. She has said in interviews that Lionel is not her birth father.
I think their was a E THS about it, but I am not 100%.
