not sure what to do .. some of u might have read my post on BHB.. that i have been in pain for 31 days now with siatica.. i dont have ins. but a chiropractor that i know for 8 years is treating me for free.. the siatica is due to a MVA i had 6 years ago and have two herniated discs as a result and now the discs are acting up irritating the siatic nerve.. nothing seems to be working im in pain all day everyday.. i have been up since 4 am crying today.. went to chiro and he does what he can but says we need a new MRI, and we need to do other testing and suggest an epidural for temproary relief but all that is very $$ and i need ins. for it.. fiance suggest that we get married at town hall, i called my church they said that is fine, i called town hall they said its fine but made it very clear that my wedding anniversary date would be the date that i got married civil and religious.. i feel like doing this takes away from my 3/10/07 date.. and i dont know what to do ...

Re: NWR .. not sure
i'm so sorry !!!
but i would highly recommend just doing the civil ceremony and getting on the insurance. remember it can take a while for insurance to go thru! u need it badly right now. and it's not like you are ONLY marrying your FH for this purpose, you already have a wedding planned and this is just extenuating circumstances. this happens every single day.
and ignore what they said about the anniversary and such. yes your official wedding date would be in 2006--but your anniversary is what you make of it. a couple that is in my BP--they did that! they had a beautiful wedding celebration--but had already been married by civil ceremony for different reasons. but ultimately--they feel that while their official date is the one months before--in their hearts their wedding date is the one they had at the church with their family & friends, with the reception that followed!

With all that pain, getting your problem taken care of is more important than the wedding date. I don't think getting married now for medical reasons will take away from your original date. Plus, now you have 2 anniversaries to celebrate.

I understand what you are going through. We are debating the same thing for my FH. The only difference is he is not in pain. Sweetie you need to take care of your self. You can celebrate you anniver. as you March 07 date. But when you fill out legal documents just remember to put the offical date. If you feel more comfortable keep it between a few people and that it. If you need to talk you can FM me.

I'm so sorry to hear but I think you should go through with the civil ceremony this is for your health and nothing will take away from your Big Day...keep the civil ceremony amongst your immediate family....I hope you feel better

You are in pain and need to take care of yourself. I would go thru with the civil ceremony to get the help you need. You can celebrate twice this way too.....which will be nice!

You should try looking into getting the testing covered under the No-fault insurance since it was related to an MVA that you had. It would probably require re-opening the case if it has already been closed. (this can be a long process, but might be worth it in the end)
Also, not sure what your financial income is, but since you don't have insurance try going through the financial assistance program at your local hospital. Some hospitals also have clinics that you can go to for care. Depending on what your income is, is what you would be responsible for.
NYS also has a program called Healthy NY. You pay based on your income. They might be able to hold you over until you get married.

Re: NWR .. not sure
my parents had separate civil and church ceramonies. They only celebrate the church date. Although my dad always buys my mom flowers on the civil anniversary too. You'd have two anniversaries. HTH
