Re: NWR-pet insurance

my mom went through a mid life crisis when i left home and joined a dog club. A lot of people use it there. I can find out from her if you want. I have heard good things about it but there are things they still don't cover

I work for an Animal Emergency Center so I deal with this all the time. It's been proven that in most cases, pet insurance does not pay off in the end. The truth is, they really dont cover a lot of things. Of course its a good thing to have if you can afford it cause you never know whats gonna happen but if youre tight on money then I wouldnt go with it.
I can make another suggestion. You can always start a savings account specifically for your pet, money that you dont touch, in case some unforseen emergency happens.....so then at least you'll have that money and it wont be such a hit out of your pocket. And then if you end up not having to use it cause you've had a healthy pet, (fingers crossed) you can spend it on something nice for your pet, or even yourself. You cant get the money back that you put into insurance. Just something to think about.

VPI is the most popular pet insurance, if youre still thinking of going that way.

Re: NWR-pet insurance

Hey Jess. I had this pet insurance and i doesnt pay off. I woundd up paying like 40-50 a month i think not 100% sure but some of my vet bills were like 1000 for emerency and it only covers very little. And it takes so long to get your money back. You have to pay in full first and then send in a claim.

But in the long run its prob cheaper to pay for the bill as long as u dont have emergency visits like i did i shouldnt be alot.

I wouldn't do it. I did a TONNNNNNN of research before I got my dog ( 2 years ago) and I decided it wasn't worth it...

Unless your dog is chronically going to the vet I wouldn't do it. It doesn't even cover everything...
