NWR: Pituitary Gland?

Has anyone ever heard of a tumor or a cyst on the pituitary gland?

Yes, only through the tv I watch. For some reason I'm obsessed with medical shows on Discovery Health and TLC!

It's my understanding that sometimes pituitary gland tumors can cause growth abnormalities... the tumor can push on the gland, which causes it to excrete too much growth hormone. People that have forms of giantism usually have some kind of pituitary growth.

I thought I'd thrown in my two cents because I saw that no one else had replied yet. Hopefully you'll get someone more qualified than me with an answer!

Very weird you bring this up, one of my best friends and bridemaid was just diagnosed with having a tumor on her pituitary last weekend. She just underwent surgery this monday and is still recovering I hope she comes home soon!
