NWR: Pre-lit Christmas trees

So yesterday I went to Harrows and bought me and FH our first Christmas tree. Actually didn't want a pre-lit one, but they were sold out of the regular ones, so what the heck I figured no biggie, if I don't like the lights I can take them off.
Well, I did some research on them this morning after my sister said BIL HATES pre-lit trees.
So my question is for you girls who have them. Are they a pain in the ***? and can I take the lights off of the tree??
Either way it was final sale, but I was just wondering if this tree is going to be a pain in my a**.

my parents got a pre-lit tree this year....first time ever, we have had real trees every year for the past 20!

I LOVED IT! It was so easy to assemble and you didn't have to worry about making sure there were enough lights. They got a GE one with 700 lights, 8 foot....it was beautiful! I am not sure if you can take the lights off, but I do know that you can add a set if you want?

I love real trees but I think for me and FH's first xmas together next year, we will be getting a pre-lit one as well!

if i listened to everyyyything everyone said and their opinions.. i would be left naked , homeless and starving.

put it up next year, if its reallly something u cant stand..then get another tree once that xmas is over.

dont listen to everyones opinions..

I like them! The lights are evenly spread out and yes, if you don't like them you can take them off! It's so easy to put them up!

Some people are writing that you need wire cutters to take them off. Ugh! Did you girls realize how expensive these trees can get???? OMG, it's nuts!
