So I have an upcoming interview for a public school social work position. For those of you who have experienced a public school interview (either teaching or other position), would you have any info for me on what to expect? It is such a great opportunity and I want to be prepared. I have heard that usually there are call backs if they like you and also interviews with a board of people. Any help would be appreciated !
TIA !!! Wish me luck !

Re: NWR - School Interviews
I'm basically the HR person for my school, and I'm on the interview committee. Here's the 411:
Dress appropriately - wear a suit. Remove any piercings, cover tatoos, etc.
Be prepared for a group interview - teachers, administrators, parents, possibly even students.
Bring extra copies of your resume. Bring a portfolio of your work (resume, certifications, awards/honors, leadership positions, pictures, maybe a classroom lesson plan).
Be approachable. A friendly smile and an enthusiastic attitude go a long way. Make sure they know that you're willing to function as part of a team.
Do your homework. Learn about the district, the school, and the surrounding community.
Know your stuff. Be able to relate your experiences when given a scenario question.
GOOD LUCK! KEEP US POSTED!

Great advice above. Be confident!!!!Go in there with the attitude like you already belong there and that you are experienced even if you are not!!!
