I know we all have a little bit of OCD in each of us, and figured we can share stories.
Here's mine:
I don't have automatic windows or door locks on my 2005 Toyota (?) ...I gave my brother a ride on Saturday and he forgot to lock the back door, and the window was cracked a bit. I noticed this about two exits from my house, and it kept haunting me until I pulled my car over on the Belt Parkway, unlocked my seatbelt and climbed over to close the window and lock the door....I just couldn't wait to get to my house right?

I'm total OCD when I cook. I have to wash my hands in between preparing each item of food. Especially when I'm preparing meat. I take the meat out of the package, usually with a fork or something, but I have to wash up after I do that. After I cut the meat, I have to wash, etc, etc... I also keep a huge bottle of purel by the kitchen sink and after I wash my hands I use the purel.
While dinner is cooking, I use my lysol disenfectint wipes on the counters just in case the meat touched the counter.
Okay, can I tell you about FH? You aren't nearly as bad...the man washes his hands a million times a day. Gets out of the shower and washes his hands, puts his socks on and washes his hands. Probably at least 8 times before even leaving the house in the morning. As for cooking, he washes EVERYTHING, even onions once he peels them. Best was when I caught him washing an orange after he peeled it and I had to screw with him and tell him he contaminated it with the tap water.

I cant set my alarm for a 'even number' It has to be like 8:03 or 5:16 but never exactly on a 10, 20 etc.
I obsessively pluck my eyebrows I used to be so bad that Id have visable gouges and red marks because I NEED to pluck every day right before I brush my teeth.
I have broken this habit and Fh is SO happy... When I had my lasik surgery I was so nervous to go anywhere near my eyes for an entire WEEK. I felt like I was going to go insane, but I also can't focus as good that close up (like leaning agaisnt the mirror) so it has helped me to not notice the hair UNDER the skin about to come up!

ok, that is just WRONG!
seriously, tho I don't think washing your hands alot when cooking is OCD. I don't think people do it enough and I drive FH nuts. I am not allowed to be in the kitchen when he cooks

I have to make my bed in the morning otherwise i feel crappy all day.
I check to make sure the door is locked like 2-3 times before i go to bed.
When i'm out to eat i always clean up any mess right away (like if water drips on the table or food spills over plate, etc. otherwise i can't eat.

I'll be going to bed and suddenly think of random things like where is my birth certificate, I then have to get up and not go to bed until I find it. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night afraid I don't know where my keys are or even more random, a sweater I haven't seen in a while; have to get up and search the closet and go physically touch my keys before I can go back to bed. Mind you, my keys are always in the same place. It's really annoying.
i am so like that
alot of times i will think about things that i can find out by looking it up on the internet...i will sit on the computer at 3 am until i am satisfied

OMG!! I used to do the same thing with the eyebrows....hunting for the hairs that were still under the skin, obsessed with plucking!!! I finally broke it by going and getting my brows waxed regularly....I didn't think anyone else did that!!!!!

Whenever I buy something, it has to be the PERFECT one. Especially if it is a gift for someone. I have th check all the seams, bows, etc to make sure it is perfect. I'll go through like 10 items to get the one that is the most 'perfect'.
Isn't that the normal thing to do?

I'm glad you think so! My FH sometimes gets so annoyed with me when I do this.

I have 'Sleeping with Enemy' tendencies:
Can lables in the pantry (including spices, Laurie ) must be facing forward.
The 'show' towels (aka Fancy Guest for all you Friends fans) must be hanging perfectly straight from the towel bar at all times.
The coffee table must be arranged perfectly (and FH is insistent on making this impossible as he is constantly putting items ON THE FLOOR so he can have room when he is wathcing TV. ).
All toss pillows and throws must be perfectly arranged on the bed and sofa before bed time and/or when leaving the apt.

Mine is with my e-ring actually... I take it off to wash my hands b/c I use bar soap and it gets into all the grooves. I have a cabinet in my bathroom for my things and I have my ring box in it. Sometimes I'll foget to put it back on and get in bed. Even though my ring is in it's box in the cabinet, I cannot go to sleep unless I get up and put it back on because I'm afraid I'll lose it.

Re: NWR: Share your most 'OCD' of moments...
FH and I went to the Fudgery in the outlets. They had three pyramids of candy and caramal apples, and we decided to buy 4 candy apples. But they were on the bottom, so pulling them out ruined the whole pyramid. The salesgirl told me to just leave it, but I couldn't - I stacked them into new perfectly symmetrical pyramids.
oh and once FH was helping me put away my clothing in my closet - but he was facing them all in the incorrect direction (they all face towards me if I am standing in the center of the closet) - so I told him I would do it myself.
I have alot of these moments - FH says I'm like Monk!

I do the same thing, and it's b/c I watched 20/20 many years ago and they had a whole report on how sponges NEED to be changed regularly b/c they're a breading ground for bacteria. I go to people's houses and THROW out their sponges if it looks like it's been used too much! Yup...I'm the culprit if you find your sponge missing!

I wash my sponge in the dishwasher everytime it runs.
