I know we all have a little bit of OCD in each of us, and figured we can share stories.
Here's mine:
I don't have automatic windows or door locks on my 2005 Toyota (?) ...I gave my brother a ride on Saturday and he forgot to lock the back door, and the window was cracked a bit. I noticed this about two exits from my house, and it kept haunting me until I pulled my car over on the Belt Parkway, unlocked my seatbelt and climbed over to close the window and lock the door....I just couldn't wait to get to my house right?

I go to people's houses and THROW out their sponges if it looks like it's been used too much! Yup...I'm the culprit if you find your sponge missing!
I wash my sponge in the dishwasher everytime it runs.

I constantly think I left my purse somewhere else when I'm in the car. I'll turn around and check my back seat, where I usually place it, about 50 times in the car. My FH thinks I'm crazy.

I cant set my alarm for a 'even number' It has to be like 8:03 or 5:16 but never exactly on a 10, 20 etc.
I obsessively pluck my eyebrows I used to be so bad that Id have visable gouges and red marks because I NEED to pluck every day right before I brush my teeth.
I have broken this habit and Fh is SO happy... When I had my lasik surgery I was so nervous to go anywhere near my eyes for an entire WEEK. I felt like I was going to go insane, but I also can't focus as good that close up (like leaning agaisnt the mirror) so it has helped me to not notice the hair UNDER the skin about to come up!
OMG!! I used to do the same thing with the eyebrows....hunting for the hairs that were still under the skin, obsessed with plucking!!! I finally broke it by going and getting my brows waxed regularly....I didn't think anyone else did that!!!!!
another brow freak here i pluck every day one stray hair will make me crazy all day
Me too...it's like i can feel them growing during the day. I'm a crazy person. I have loads of OCD tendencies but here are a few for your enjoyment: -I have to face the door when I'm at a restaurant, in a meeting, etc. -I have to check that the front door is locked at least three times before I walk away -I do the random searches for the things in the middle of the night and can't sleep til I find them -I don't let anyone in my apartment unless it's 'perfect' -I could go on all day...

I am obsessed with time...I can't stand being late for anything.
I asked FH to wake me up one morning when he got out of the shower...because I had to be in the shower by 7am, well, he woke me up at 7:01 and I freaked. I jumped out of bed and hopped right in the shower like that 1 minute was really going to make me late for work.
He thinks I'm crazy!!!

I have BAD OCD…in regards to cleaning really bad I need to see the lines in the carpet in my bedroom or else the room looks like a disaster - hence why I HAVE to vacuum everyday - THANK GOODNESS we're putting hardwood floors down next month - even the bath rug drives me up the wall if its not 'fluffed' I must smack that damn rug out the window three times a day just to get it 'fluffed up' After I finish cleaning the house I have to go back into every room and make sure that everything is in its place - so I'll go and straigten out pillows and knick knacks on tables and shelves over and over until I feel like its perfect…its actually quite annoying… My clothes in my drawers and closets have to be in a certain order - in my drawers all my shirts need to be grouped into categories - for instance 'long sleeve work'or 'short sleeve casual' etc etc…in my closet same thing - work pants together, jeans together, blah blah blah… Ok now that you all think I'm officially nuts - let me just say that I WISH I wasn't like this - it is one the most hardest things wanting to have everything so perfect and in its place…its frustrating and it causes fights amongst me and my fh and my family - bc they think I'mj ust over doing all of the 'cleaning'and that I'm just a neat freak…I would love to not want to pick up that towel on the floor or wash that dish and dry it and put it away right then and there...
You are absoulutely not alone. When reading this it was like you took everything I wanted to post, and did it first (especially the carpet thing, and the clothes being arranged) But one thing that REALLY, REALLY bothers me is odd numbers. It's so compulsive that I have to have everthing down to the volume on the TV at an even number. If anything that can be ajusted is on an odd number I freak. Crazy right

Just had a total OCD moment...I scrubbed the grout in between my kitchen floor tiles because I thought it didn't look clean enough after I washed the floors...Oh, and I did it with an old toothbrush.
I also need to check that every door in the house is locked before I go to bed every night. Even if I just came in and locked the door behind me, I will go around and check the other doors and then go back to that one and check it. Like the door's going to unlock itself or something....

Just thought of another one, a lot of things gross me out. At work I won't use the sponge in the kitchen, I bring my own to wash out my mug
I do the same thing, and it's b/c I watched 20/20 many years ago and they had a whole report on how sponges NEED to be changed regularly b/c they're a breading ground for bacteria. I go to people's houses and THROW out their sponges if it looks like it's been used too much! Yup...I'm the culprit if you find your sponge missing!
I totally don't think thats OCD, I think that's SMART! The people in my office used to forget to squeeze the sponge when they finished using it so after like 2 days it would reek. I've thrown so many away here they don't even bother replacing them anymore so now I use a paper towel and soap to wash my dishes. Better off that way anyway.

I absolutely CANNOT be late for ANYTHING! I am always early.....I actually get upset if I think I am going to be late. If I say I will be at someone's house at 3, I am there at 2:45......

Re: NWR: Share your most 'OCD' of moments...
I have lots of OCD moments - I hate leaving the apartment with the bed unmade and can't stand that FH leaves his dirty clothes on the floor next to the bed. Sometimes I try not to put the stuff in the hamper just so he'll do it - but I cannot let it just sit there. That's not a great OCD example...but it's the only one I can currently think of.

i check all the doors in the house to make sure its locked
i check the stove before going to bed
i make sure the faucets are not dripping that drives me crazy
every clock in my house is a different time
everything just laying around belongs somewhere
when shopping for anything such as groceries or clothes i tumble the whole shelf looking for the most perfect one which is usually the last one
I feel like monica from friends
