Should I get highlights? Im kinda getting sick of my brown hair. But then again I like my brown hair but I feel its lacking something. It makes me look dull and just BLAHHHH sometimes. Should I get highlights after a year of having brown hair. ??? Who has gotten highlights recently??

right now i have really dark dark brown hair and i just did chunky blonde hightlights just around my face.....i love it.....i don't keep them in for that long, but its something to keep me from getting bored....i think that for my boudoir pics in november i'll change them over to fuscia ......i've been dying to have fuscia highlights but im not sure if i want crazy hair in my boudoir pictures - but i figure i might as well go all out for them lmao .....then i'll be back to dark brown or blue black for awhile.....god knows what color hair i'll have for my wedding!!!! im always changing it.....probably dark brown with maybe a few lighter brown highlights, probably something very natural looking for the wedding......my natural hair color is dirty blonde - yuck i HATE blonde hair! i love DARK!
You look amazing with your dark hair in your avatar pic. Your eyes pop more

i say why not. you can always dye it back if you're unhappy. My girlfriend has very dark hair and just got great blonde highlights.. it just looked very natural the way it was done...and i really loved it.. it made me want highlights again..lol. What i liked is that it wasn't chunky and it wasn't sooo blonde, i feel like going to light just makes it look all wrong. It was a nice ..i guess u could call it ..honey blonde and it looked great!

Highlights won't make you not a brunette anymore. I like your hair dark (from the pictures that i see), but if you want highlights but don't want a dramatic difference, then only get a half-head and don't get blond highlights. You can get highlights that are just a few shades lighter brown than what you have right now. Better to do a little at a time and not as drastic. Go for it if you want them.
I agree, i see some girls add a few blonde highlights and say omg im blonde now, and im like HUH now youre a brunette with a few blonde streaks but still look like a brunette
Maybe do a different brown, or caramel color
With me, I keep on highlighting on top of highlights so I eventually became all blonde

I think you look very pretty with just your brown hair... at least from what i saw in your hair and makeup trial pics, i don't think you need highlights.

Yeah I dont want really light blonde highlights. How about if I ask for blonde lowlights??? Whats the difference? My friend got light brown highlights and looked nice, I never really thought of it. Thanks!
I say ask for caramel or a light mocha color. They'll give you the whole book w/the strands. I'm also not a fan of dark brown/w/light blond highlights so that's JMO. I think med to dark brown hair looks very natural w/some light brown highlights. Just pick a light brown that you like from the strands. It will soften up the color you have now w/o changing anything or being streaky.
Also, lowlights are when you put in a darker color. Alot of times when people dye their hair blonde it gets too greenish or too brassy so w/lowlights it darkens or mutes it a bit so the blonde isn't as harsh.
i agree a caramel or light mocha color would look nice

Yeah I think Im going to go with a caramel hightlight on top of my brown hair, not too chunky. If I like it I will keep it or else I can always change it.

I get highlights. I go dark in the winter and light in the summer. I don't tell my colorist what to do, I just tell him, it's time to go darker and he works his magic. He is the best!

You are gorgeous with your hair color but I know how sometimes it can feel boring after a while. If you decide for the highlights just make sure theyre not too drastic. Maybe like a caramel or something to that nature. That way when youre roots grow in, it wont be too much maintenance.

What about some caramel colored highlights? Just to give it some depth?

Thanks sooo much girls. I knew you be of big help. Yeah I get bored after a while so I want a change.
Is this caramely? I like this color but may be too light??

The darker color is close to a carmel. Do yourself a favor -- only let your girl do a few individual foils (6-10 MAX). You will get the feel of it and if you like it won't be high maintence or hard to get back to your natural color and its not as damaging. I have natural red hair (not fire engine red or orange). It has gotten a little darker over the years and in the summer i put individual foils just to give something extra and then this time of year i add in low lights so that by nov it will be its natural color.
Its not high maitance, hasn't killed my hair (I just use an extra spray in condition after i wash it) and I haven't lost my natural color!

Go darker. Your hair is dark right now, so only go a few shades lighter I think.
