Should I get highlights? Im kinda getting sick of my brown hair. But then again I like my brown hair but I feel its lacking something. It makes me look dull and just BLAHHHH sometimes. Should I get highlights after a year of having brown hair. ??? Who has gotten highlights recently??

Do you want them for the wedding? That's what I ask myself, every time I think of changing my hair before the wedding!

Well, on the plus side, you definitely have enough time to try the highlights, and then if you decide against them, dye it back, without doing too much damage.

what kind of highlights, reason im asking is bc if you have dark hair and get blonde highlights sometimes it doesn't look good...I think if its too streaky look or eventoo chunky might not look good...That hair is actually called hollywood trash. I think red ones look nice

No I dont want chunky. A couple of thin strands on the top of my head. I dont think I have any pics??? I kept on highlighting on top of highlights and my hair eventually became all blonde.

Highlights won't make you not a brunette anymore. I like your hair dark (from the pictures that i see), but if you want highlights but don't want a dramatic difference, then only get a half-head and don't get blond highlights. You can get highlights that are just a few shades lighter brown than what you have right now. Better to do a little at a time and not as drastic. Go for it if you want them.

You can't go too light. I have highlights but I'm thinking of going back to dark brown. It's much too much upkeep for me.

Yeah I dont want really light blonde highlights. How about if I ask for blonde lowlights??? Whats the difference? My friend got light brown highlights and looked nice, I never really thought of it. Thanks!

Lowlights are when you have blonde hair and put brown 'low'lights in.

honestly i wouldnt do it then but thats me...having just a few strands of blonde when you have dark hair I am not a huge fan of anymore, the whole streaky look. Have you seen dark hair with chunks of red blended it, not really done in streaks

That is exactly what I was going to suggest - some LIGHTER brown around your face will do a LOT!

I agree, i see some girls add a few blonde highlights and say omg im blonde now, and im like HUH now youre a brunette with a few blonde streaks but still look like a brunette
Maybe do a different brown, or caramel color

I say ask for caramel or a light mocha color. They'll give you the whole book w/the strands. I'm also not a fan of dark brown/w/light blond highlights so that's JMO. I think med to dark brown hair looks very natural w/some light brown highlights. Just pick a light brown that you like from the strands. It will soften up the color you have now w/o changing anything or being streaky.
Also, lowlights are when you put in a darker color. Alot of times when people dye their hair blonde it gets too greenish or too brassy so w/lowlights it darkens or mutes it a bit so the blonde isn't as harsh.

Re: NWR: Should I do it??
right now i have really dark dark brown hair and i just did chunky blonde hightlights just around my face.....i love it.....i don't keep them in for that long, but its something to keep me from getting bored....i think that for my boudoir pics in november i'll change them over to fuscia ......i've been dying to have fuscia highlights but im not sure if i want crazy hair in my boudoir pictures - but i figure i might as well go all out for them lmao .....then i'll be back to dark brown or blue black for awhile.....god knows what color hair i'll have for my wedding!!!! im always changing it.....probably dark brown with maybe a few lighter brown highlights, probably something very natural looking for the wedding......my natural hair color is dirty blonde - yuck i HATE blonde hair! i love DARK!
