NWR - Should I take this job offer??

I know this isnt wedding related, but I kinda needed to vent!

well i have been at my job for 2 years now. the money is AWFUL. i live in huntington and work in hauppauge. i like my job, but ive been promised soooo many things, and nothing seems to ever come through for me. i work really hard and both of my bosses gush over me all the time, but they certainly dont gush my paycheck!! not only that, i am constantly being used as the scapegoat (did i spell that right?>?) for them, and then they yell at me. i dont like how they talk to me or anyone else, and it makes going to work unpleasent. OK. so I got offered a job to work for a small cosmetic company, to be the account executive. (the owner is a friend of my FSIL) so the owner is amazing. a really great guy, with might i add make up that i have become totally addicted to - that i have been using - BEFORE - he offered me the job.

so with this new oppertunity, i would have to commute into manhattan. he has offered me about 10K more than what i am making now, plus commision. am i crazy to be doing this and taking this job this close to my wedding??!!

i am so sorry this is so long. i just needed to vent.

-thanks!!

Id do it in a FLASH!

Then again I work in the city and want to live in suffolk. haha

Money's always better in the city, but can you handle the environment. The commute, the city style, etc.

Up to you.

Where on the island do you live, I do the commute everyday, and your lucky you can walk from Penn to your office, so its really not that bad...you'll love the shopping all around there...I work on 5th ave between 56th ande 57th..so I have to take the subway also.but still the city is great, you can't beat it..I'm an account executive at a magazine...you can't beat the job opportunities there...you'll love it and never look back, I promise!

YES - do it. The commute from Huntington is relatively a good one. You can get express trains to Penn throughout the morning. More than the extra $, it sounds much more promising than your current job. If you wind up unhappy with it, just move on.

I live in LI, Nassau
I used to live in Kew Gardens Queens.

Working in the City:
I don't mind it. I get a good book and read on the train in. I don't really mind the commute at all. I must admit I'm not into the hot muggy days when the subway is murder but i do love the money I make. I find Im not the type to go out unless I'm invited so I stay pretty near my office. Works for me. I don't like the long lines at lunch time.

Wish I worked in Long Island?
Sure because I miss driving my car (strange I know) I mean I pay insurance payments on it and I barely even get IN the danged thing! I wish I could get home quicker. It's a bit of a bummer for me being so far from Jim. Things are a bit more formal but Im used to it, still I wish I had the laid back offices of Long Island.

It's up to you. Personally I say with your situtation I'd take it!. I just wanted to be give you some honest thoughts on it.

I know you LOVE cosmetics... and the money is awesome! The train station at Huntington is great - they have lots of trains there. I even drive to there to take the train rather than take it from Kings Park!
