Open case with CPS.
Thanks for the nurse info. I'm thinking that stuff might be up to date as I have a drs note from October.

Maybe what you can do is have the principal or administrtor call 911 and have a mbulance come, based on the fact that he is non-functional. While he is in the ER they would most likely do a psych consult and be able to admit him from there...a little sneaky but ofthen the quickest way...

This would probably be the best bet.

That is what I feel this has come to.
He tried leaving the building yesterday but we stopped him. Should he try again, a call to 911 is in order. I hate to have to wait for something bad to happen, ya know?

It's better to do something 'drastic' before a major crisis occurs

I know...if something really bad were to happen I would feel like I dropped the ball. I hate having my hands tied in a situation like this.

Let's see:
Filthy living conditions
Horrendus sleeping arrangements
Fetal position once he's carried into school.

Is there really nothing I can do?

Did u call ACS???????

The problem is, as long as mom and dad have parental rights, they get the last say. So honestly, I don't think you are required to be the one to call.

***Someone correct me if I'm wrong.***

I also THINK that if the child is a danger to himself or others the school MIGHT be able to go above the parents head and have him admitted. But if not then like she said, the parents have final say.

Arent teachers mandated reporters like social workers are (i know city teachers are). If you suspect abuse and think CPS isnt doing their job you MUST call!

WHAT?!?!?! How could they? I would call again and open a new case....

Or if you know who the CPS worker is ask for his/her supervisor and find out what the deal is...

Yes, teachers are mandated reporters as well. You can call the complaint in again, but there's no guarantee that CPS will take it. I have the same issue right now with one of my clients.

My experience with Adult Protective Services is to always go up the chain and call supervisor and the supervisor's supervisor and annoy the cr*p outta them and they will actually do something. I work with senior citizens but many of these agencies are so overloaded with cases that they WILL overlook cases that do not have anyone overseeing them. the squeaky wheel gets the grease unfortunately.

If I wanted to adopt a child and I was the mother in that case (minus any other kids) I am POSITIVE no one would let me bring a child into these conditions!!!

GOOD NEWS!!!!
He has been admitted. I don't know anymore details than that but I am very happy that even if it is just a day or so, he will be getting the help he needs.
