Let's see:
Filthy living conditions
Horrendus sleeping arrangements
Fetal position once he's carried into school.

Is there really nothing I can do?

I believe that as a teacher you can do a madated report..any other agencies working with them?

No. I would suggest writting a letter stating the reasons why the case should be re-opened. Perhaps the family can be provided with a preventive care worker at least to monitor the family and child.

That's a great idea. The mom really needs some help. My student is still at the facility, possibly for a 10 day eval. Both parents have been supportive and have been to see him while he's being evaluated.
