I was taking a shower and FH was at the store. Next thing I know a cop was at my door. One of my future step-sons, who is 5, thought it would be fun to show his brother, who is 4, that he knows how to call the police. I was grilled by this cop forever, who then went around to my neighbors to see if there were any problems ( i live in a co-op) I was so embarrassed.

I did have him come to the door when the cop was here, to show him who he called, but explained to him, at this time, there was no reason for a cop to be here.

OMG! As embarassing as it was, at least you know he'll know what to do if God forbid he ever does have the call them for real. Small consolation but a good think none the less.

Oh man. My son did that also when he was about 2 1/2 he always wanted to play with my cell phone. I put key guard on 'locked the keys... or so I thought' but didn't realize it still lets you dial 9-1-1, so he's pushing all the buttons and I didn't care because in my mind he couldn't call anyone... and then I heard someone talking back I was so embarrassed!
