NWR: Throwing a 30th Birthday Party ...

Ok so FH's 30th birthday is on January 2nd. I would like to plan a surprise birthday party for him but it is so close to NYE I am not sure what to do. I can throw the party on December 27th or I can throw the party on January 3rd.

What do you think is better before or after? Either way it's right in the mix of the holidays.

The next question is where can I have it. I want to have it at a bar/club on Long Island where I can have a private section and even order some food.

TIA for your help ...

I would do it after New Years so people wind down from all the Holidays. I am not sure where you could have it though. You got plenty of time!

Well I am looking to invite 50 + people so I need to find a place so I know how much its going to cost me and I am nervous cause it is around the holidays.

I would do it after the New Year only because once the Holidays are completely over the prices of places should go down a lot. I used to work for an RH and even there once the new year happened the prices dropped.

That's true. That might actually work out nicely. I forget about that place. Thanks!

I threw FH a surprise 30th party back in July, we had it at his sisters house-outside. I know it's totally 2 different seasons, but if you need help. I'm more then happy to help.

I agree-do it after the holidays-the rate would be cheaper, plus it won't get in the way with people's work holiday parties or functions.

Agree-Huntington are is great. there are so many bars in that area. Where do you live? I can help you out with some bars/restuarants where you can have it.

I am the odd one out but I would do it before... only because I am so beat after the holidays that I normally don't like to do anything for a while... with all the running around and family stuff it would be nice to have a night out with friends.

I think having it after is a better option
