NWR: Trying to be healthier

Original post by bella_bride

Hi Ladies,

I am trying to get on a health kick!

So I realized that I don't eat my full servings of fruits and vegtables everyday, but I sure can pile on the breads, grains and pastas... and I just want to start eating healthier...

So this morning I tried a can of V8!!! Ugh - I had to hold my nose!

Any ideas?

I totally swear by WW it forces me to be accountable for what i put in my mouth..

Ive been on WW for a year now and I really cannot eat the way I used to. Fried food makes me soooo sick now that I have no desire for it. I haven't eaten fast food in over a year now and its great.

However, it has not gotten rid of my desire for chocolate!

I agree... once you've been healthy for awhile and eat some junk you definately feel different. Although it may taste good, I try to remember how my head will eventually hurt and how the junk feels in my stomach!

I think the hardest buy-in was FH. He is totally supportive of me, but he's like a rail, just thin and can eat whatever he wants. So he has been on board with the health and more veggies thing, but when I tried to cut back on meat he started hurting and its either I cook white pasta or I have to cook two different kinds because he is not on board with whole wheat. But when we're back together, I'll have to try some of the Ronzoni stuff, because I know he'll eat it, it'll be a healthy comromise :)

Remember starting on Monday we are going to do a WW/weight loss (for the girls who arent doing WW) string and we can each say where we are from the week prior. I am really excited about it and I think it is going to be great motivation for all of us!

What is it for Monday? Just a regular weigh in? Soooo, to avoid embarrassment, we'll be forced not to gain and post the numbers?? . There's motivation. I'm in!
