My FH just called me and got out of court. He had 4 tickets he received in one night because ultimately, he has a fast car and it's red so he constantly gets stopped by cops. His Mom works for the PD and she always gets him out of tickets. Great. But, he doesn't seem to learn his lesson. He has had 60 tickets in 10 years. 60 tickets!!!!!! Who the hell gets that many tickets. So, he was able to plead the fine down to $250. To me, that is a $hit ton of money to throw away on tickets for being stupid. His Mom just keeps getting him out of these tickets and it's a fricken joke to him. I am getting really irritated that he thinks it's okay to keep getting tickets left and right. I wish he'd be more responsible in this sense. So, of course when he called me and was all happy that he had to pay $250, I go 'Well you better stop getting tickets. You're an a$$ for getting this many.' He gets mad at me for acting this way. Sometimes I feel his parents did a $hitty job with his upbringing that I am afraid it will affect our relationship.

I hear ya u feel like because he always gets bailed out he never really learns a lesson. Maybe you need to sit him down & discuss this with him. Thats its time to grow up & throwing 250 on a tickets here & there is not a victory its actually food off our table or money that could have gone to the wedding. etc. You need to talk to him calmly & maturely. Good luck! BTW they all go through their stupid phase but ten yrs is way to long! lol

Re: NWR Vent
wow his parents arent doing him any justice by cleaning up his messes for him. He has to learn to be responsible and take care of his own things. Hopefully things will get better but if his parents continue getting him out of sticky situations, I'm afraid things won't change.
So sorry you have to deal with this

Wow yeah that is a ridiculous amount of tickets and a ridiculous amount of irresponsibility. I think you are a 100% accurate in expressing your frustration on this. I would say to not let this get you down about your relationship or the future. I am sure he will become more mature about this when he realizes all the funds are jointly owned or their are children to worry about. I think it will stop. He just needs to get his head straight on this matter! Good for you for saying something!

Thanks ladies. I spoke to him and I feel like it's not fully resolved because it was just 'dropped'. I don't care though- he will listen to what I have to say later! He told me he didn't take the money out of his savings and that he took it out of his pocket. He is 26 years old and passionate about racing and all that stupid crap so I know this is not going to change. I told him he better cut the $hit with the tickets or else I am not dealing with it. It's too much stress. It sounds so stupid to even argue this but to me, it's a big deal. His Mother has always been an 'Oh no, not my Son' type. I was not raised that way and it's frustrating to deal with. So, I am doing all the yelling that his Mother should have done the past 26 years. Pat is a responsible guy when it comes to his job and taking care of things. I can count on him for important things but it's stupid $hit like this that gets to me.
