Re: NWR: Weight Loss

Thanks for all those who sent me the congrats. It was hard! There is no such thing as crash dieting and keeping the weight off. I watched what I ate, stopped going out to eat all together (in the beginning) and exercised. It is all about portions, fruits, veggies, and healthy foods. I still splurge everyonce in awhile, but 1 day of splurging wont make me gain back 50lbs! LOL. It took me 2+ years to lose my 50lbs, but 1 year later, I still have no gained a pound back!

If anyone needs some encouragment or someone to chat with send me an FM. I have some GREAT healthy recipes that you would not even tell were diet food!

I think the 1 day of splurging is great, i had done the same thing...Infact i read an article a fitness instructor wrote and he says just give 6 days a week of yourself to sticking to a diet.

WOW thats great that you didnt gain any weight back at all good for you

It took me about that long to lose 50 pounds too and i did it the same way... no pills or a fad diet. I cut out fast food and ice cream in the beginning (which used to be a regularity) and while I havent gained any weight back i'm not as firm because I stopped exercising. I think its healthy to have 1 day to induldge because when you have cravings for something.. I just think okay well I'll have that on saturday and i dont give in that instant.

I gave up ALL junk food for Lent and its been really hard to keep to that not being able to indulge even one day.. SO for 2 days following Easter I am indulging consciously!

you know what i also used to do...like sometimes i would crave some things, like a piece of cake or something and i would just take one or two small bites, this way i was able to taste it and enjoy it lol but ate so little of it, wont make a difference hahaha...in my head this was a perfect solution

I LOVE IT! but - not to be rude - i think you need to find better pictures - not that those pictures aren't gorgeous bc they are - but i think the loss is even MORE dramatic than that - if that makes sense? hmm i will look through your pics now he he he

i still cant believe the transformation bc i saw you like every day all of a sudden i turned around and you were different!!!

oog maybe pics from your cousin's wedding?

i read somewhere that we only really TASTE the first two bites of food and the rest is just kind of habit - so if you are eating something just for the taste y ou should stop after two bites - so your technique makes sense!!!

also about those diet plans . . .if i ate all that (for ex: cottage cheese, grapefruit etc) for breakfast . . .i wouldnt even be able to make it to work LOL my stomach is soooo bad
