Can someone give me the lowdown on points? How many points are you supposed to stay under a day? I'm going to use dwlz.com to track my points for certain foods, because I don't want to pay to join WW....but can someone just explain the point system (how many can I have a day, etc.)? Thanks so much!!

Re: NWR: Weight Watchers Points
depends on your starting weight. goes something like this:
not sure if the second and third weight ranges are exactly right, don't have book with me. in any case, in order to lose weight you have to eat that many points and no more. There are 35 flex points that you can use throughout the week too, but usually that will allow you to maintain the same weight and not lose.
ETA that I am not sure about higher weights but I if noone has responded by the time i get home tonight, i will fm you.

Check out weightwatchers.com and it will give you the lowdown on how many points you can have. At least I think that information is on there.

I do'nt have my book with me either, you can also get extra points by doing a certain amount of exercise.
When I started, the plan was slightly different and they gave you a range of pts to stick within and then they changed it to a number and flex pts. I usually stuck to the low end of my range (18-23 pts under 150, 20-25 pts 150-175), and lost 35 lbs within a few months.

Re: NWR: Weight Watchers Points
the flex points (35 for the week) can be used as extra points when you need them. For example if you are allowed 20 points in the day, but know you are going to be going out to dinner that night and need 10 extra points for your meal (for example) you can use some of your 35. Then you would deduct them and have 25 extra points left for the week. Some people use them all, some people don't use them...some use a few here and there. Even if you use all 35 every week, the program is designed that you should still lose. But since everyone is really different it varies of course. It's nice to know you can use them though so you don't feel deprived, especially on special occasions and stuff. HTH!
