Roe vs. Wade? Should it be overturned or should it stay.

see between the 7th and 9th wk the baby is small but has arms legs a brain etc
plus at 5 weeks the heart starts beating. Isnt a heart beating an indication that something is alive?
Now i am pro-choice but i also dont agree with people who are pro-choice and say the baby is not alive in the first trimester

i dont understand why people care what other people do though - thats what bothers me - its like why do you want to take away somebodys right to choose what they want to do with their body? whether you think its murder or not its not your business kwim? and what bothers me is that alot of the pro-life people provide false info about abortion - like the size of the fetus, they say fetus screams, someone just said the fetus moves away - the fetus moving away is just a natural reflex - it doesnt know what is about to happen - but they make it try to sound like the fetus is running away or something (not the person who posted, im talking about the pro life protestors) they use pictures of older fetuses on their posters - and things like that annoy me - at least use real facts if you are going to protest....
I try not to care and I have many friends who have had abortions. Ive even supported them and was there for them. It was their choice and they made mistakes. Thats okay in my eyes. But what is the reason for a LATE term abortion when theres nothing wrong with the fetus or the mothers life is in danger? Did the person decide last minute they didnt want the child?? It just doesnt make sense. A child can survive outside the womb at 6 months. It just really nauseates me. If someone is capable of aborting a healthy 6 month old fetus I dont know what else theyre capable of.
i dont agree with aborting after a fetus can survive outside the womb either - unless it is to save the mother or if its because there is something wrong with the baby that will cause it to be stillborn/die.....
but women, (not just young girls) get pregnant and abort all the time - even older women that already had kids and are close to our parents ages abort - say i got pregnant in my 40's and my kids are all almost grown up - to be honest, id probably abort.....its not just teens that are 'irresponsible' that abort but unfortunately because its so taboo women dont talk about abortion.....its not just teens - its married couples too, older women, women of all ages....i just wanted to say that before i forgot
yeah and thats even crazier to me because older people preach to teens all the time and then assume they cant get pregnant themselves. For Gods sake, there are ways to prevent getting pregnant. Ive done it for almost 8 YEARS!! 8 YEARS and not one false alarm because I refuse to make a mistake. Its NOT HARD. And Im not including victims of rape, Im talking about people in relationships who think that one time they dont use a condom wont affect them. When I was off the pill and DH tried to jump my bones I practically kicked him in his nuts.
YES there are alot of older women and women in their 20's and 30's who have abortions, it definitely is not just teens. I think it makes it worst, a 15 year old being naive is one thing but somebody else is different. And here is my thing, yes i know people in their 30's who have it but i also know those in their 30's who have had quite a few abortions. Youre an adult and should know better, yes mistakes happen but when it keeps happening then i am sorry that is different.
i dont think its worse - i guess that is where i am different - i feel like for the most part more people have unplanned pregnancies than planned ones - im even having a niece right now that wasnt planned - so although its easy to say 'i am always careful and i never will have an unplanned pregnancy' it can still happen.....im not saying you should stop being careful - i am SUPER carfeul and i am PARANOID actually because i dont want a kid hahahaha.....but to say it could never happen is wishful thinking - at least that is what i think.....so since there is that miniscule chance that i can get pregnant at any time for the next 25 years or so, i hope that i will have the right to chose....

but you said she is having the baby. I am not saying that as a married person or someone who is older that you have to be careful 100% of the time. DH and I are NOT trying for a baby right now and dont plan to for a little while BUT if i happened to get pregnant now even though it is not planned then i will 100% keep the baby and no questions about it. I am an adult, i am married and no reason why i shouldn't keep the baby at this moment. So i am not saying it cant happen, what i am saying is having to live with the consequences of your mistakes. And if it happens once or twice ok fine, i know somebody very close to me that is older and has had quite a few abortions. It bothers the F*CK out of me that after the 1st, 2nd, ok even 3rd time she didnt learn her lesson. Even in her 30's she was the most fertile person ever. If you dont learn after having abortions numerous times then i am sorry something is wrong. I love this person dearly but that is wrong. Go on birth control then if you see you are so fertile, use a condom but do something. After a while its not a mistake but just not caring

nicole i understand what you are saying. But are you going to tell me that during your first trimester when you keep the baby, that youre not going to look at it like a baby. I think you would get VERY offended if somebody else said its just a parasite at the moment or compare it to a bug, i mean honestly, i think youre great and not attacking you but even in the first trimester during those first 3 months you are not going to feel that way. You are going to say MY BABY even from the first day you find out youre pregnant. I highly doubt that you will say in the first 3 months, well at the moment its not a baby its more like a bug or some type of animal or its more like a parasite. And only after 3 months will you say oh its now a baby.
Did you see the post on the previous page? it shows each week up until the first 12 weeks each stage it goes through. By 5 weeks it has a heart and heartbeat, it has a brain and brain development, fingernails, toenails, spinal cord, hair follicles, it even developes its reproductive system this is a direct quote from it and this is by week 10: By now, your baby's vital organs have a solid foundation

no, i actually compared a fetus in the first trimester - im just saying that bug can do more than a 4 week old fetus can - and you would squash a bug without thinking twice - the only difference i see is that a fetus has the potential to be something more - at and at what point is it a 'baby' - i think when it can survive outside the womb

i know but dont you think when ppl see the comparison to a bug and more than a 4 week old fetus can do and if you can squash a bug why not a baby. If i was pregnant right now and around the first trimester i think i would feel horrible that something considers a bug can do more than my baby or even any comparison to the two at all. When a pregnant woman goes in for a sonogram and hears the babies heart beating at just a few weeks i think they feel differently and see it as a living thing inside of her.
Yes i kill bugs, but i am also allergic to bug bites bc well some do bite me lol, they can spread disease, i just dont think a baby, whether its a zygote, in the embryonic stages or a fetus should even be compared to one im sorry.
I am pro-choice but to say its not worth anything in the first trimester is not right. It has a heartbeat right? that means its alive plain and simple. We are considered dead once our heart stops beating, that is exactly how they will pronounce us dead, once that one small action stops. So then that means the moment you are considered a human being is the moment your heart starts beating. Whether its fully developed or not.

i am pro-choice dont get me wrong. But i do think some take it too far and thats when it bothers me. Mistakes do happen and i understand that. And again not saying that unplanned pregnancies dont happen, hey i was an unplanned pregnancy and thats fine with me. The same way if i got pregnant right this very moment that would be fine with me, i wouldnt love my baby any less. I dont think the state can tell a woman what choices she has to live with. But i hate when i see those who just dont care and dont learn after many mistakes.

Comparing a baby to a bug is crazy. Even to a parasite. To my understanding, yes parasite attaches itself to a host almost like a baby BUT it harms the host in the process. A baby does not do this.

Re: NWR: What do you think about...
i just think of scenarios - like say i have a child and then in 2 years i have another - and what if that 2nd child is special needs - and what if my husband and i are having a difficult time raising two children - money is tight, things are hectic, say its the worst case scenario - and then, even though im taking birth control i find out i am pregnant with a third child - and the two we have are already a handful - and i feel that if i have a third baby it will take attention away from my 2 children that i already have - and in this worst case scenario say 1 or lets say both of my children that i have are special needs kids - well to be honest, if i was in those shoes, i might chose not to continue with that pregnancy - so i always try to visualize myself in a predicament where i might be the person who needs access to a doctor - but now i can't find one because its illegal - and now i have to have a child that i cant afford, and now i have to worry about how will i take care of the two children i already have....so that to me, is a scenario where i dont think the person would be wrong for not wanting to continue with that pregnancy.....does that make sense? even if i dont believe in something i always try to put myself on the other side, in the shoes of someone, to try and figure out how or why they would do it....kwim?

but i didnt say its not worth anything - did i? if i did, i didnt mean its not worth anything.....like i said, bad example, im just trying to say that to me a 2, 4, 6, or 8 week old fetus is not the same as a baby on the day that baby is born.....but to me, when i am pregnant with my child i am sure to me, as an expectant mother it will be like a baby in my head....does that sense? i should just go back and edit what i said before it causes controversy
