Roe vs. Wade? Should it be overturned or should it stay.

Please lets be respectful to each others opinions when we answer.

i dont have a link but i saw it on a tv show and it wasnt in ny if was like in the midwest or something

a news show or just some tv show bc you cant believe everything you see on tv.

Like i said, yes they do partial birth abortions but in extreme cases. If the baby died inside of the mother, or if the mothers health is at risk. I dont see any respectable doctor even performing this.

awareness to teens talk 2 your kids about this some kids do it bc they dont feel loved so they need someone to love them some are just not wise no matter wat you do u cant stop it but use condoms tell your mother u want birth control she may not like but as a teenage mother i wouldnt want my child 2 go though wat i went though its hard and in a few years its gonna get even harder but ...................just try 2 get your kids on the pill make sure they a least know about the dangers of teenage pregancy cause i alot of teens miscarry also show them wat its like 2 give birth by renting the tapes if they have young family members let them babysit them like that show the baby borrowers or something like that let them know its a life thing its not only 1 year of being a parent.

P.S. I wouldnt suggets girls at young ages have kids.i wouldnt have if i really knew wat was gonna happen......but i made a not so good thing turn into a beatiful begining

It should remain no doubt about it. I do not think LATE TERM abortion should be legal. Thats just disgusting to me. At that point have the child and give it up for adoption.

I said this before on another thread but I was misinformed about third trimester abortions until I took a college class on contemporary women's health. Third trimester/late-term abortions are extremely rare, and don't really happen 'just because the woman decides she doesnt want a baby anymore'

They happen in 3 pretty discrete circumstances: 1) The baby is already dead, and the woman doesn't want to carry around a dead baby and waiting to go into labor while getting comments from bystanders congratulating her etc. 2) the baby has severe developmental defects that will cause it to die shortly after birth; 3) the mother's life is at risk.

I'm not saying that I think the woman should have an abortion in those situations, but my dad's mother had a very high-risk pregnancy and died in childbirth with his brother so these are very real situations.

I will edit my answer and say unless the mother is in danger or it is absolutely necessary.

They dont happen now unless the mother is in danger or it's absolutely necessary. Most proposed bans on third-trimester abortions just eliminate the mother's choice when her life is at risk, or force her to carry around a child she know is dead or will die shortly after birth.

It sounds horrible to say you are 'in favor' of late-term abortions, but given the circumstances in which they occur I am in favor of a woman's right to choose in those situations... which are really the only situations where they occur

Are you sure? I only ask because a few years ago I knew of a girl who got an abortion at 6 months pregnant, isnt that considered late term?

to me personally that's late term, but it's still second trimester. i dont think abortions at 6 months are common regardless, and im surprised she found a doctor that would do it

i dont understand why people care what other people do though - thats what bothers me - its like why do you want to take away somebodys right to choose what they want to do with their body? whether you think its murder or not its not your business kwim? and what bothers me is that alot of the pro-life people provide false info about abortion - like the size of the fetus, they say fetus screams, someone just said the fetus moves away - the fetus moving away is just a natural reflex - it doesnt know what is about to happen - but they make it try to sound like the fetus is running away or something (not the person who posted, im talking about the pro life protestors) they use pictures of older fetuses on their posters - and things like that annoy me - at least use real facts if you are going to protest....

I try not to care and I have many friends who have had abortions. Ive even supported them and was there for them. It was their choice and they made mistakes. Thats okay in my eyes. But what is the reason for a LATE term abortion when theres nothing wrong with the fetus or the mothers life is in danger? Did the person decide last minute they didnt want the child?? It just doesnt make sense. A child can survive outside the womb at 6 months. It just really nauseates me. If someone is capable of aborting a healthy 6 month old fetus I dont know what else theyre capable of.

I'm pro-choice, but against using abortion as a form of birth control. If you get raped, are a victim of incest, etc. - that is one thing. Irresponsibility is another.

Re: NWR: What do you think about...

I think it needs a lot more restrictions. I am fully against partial birth abortions. But I am 100% for abortions in the cases of rape and when it is going to be harmful to the mothers health. I am against tax payers money going towards abortions for any reason other than in the reasons I noted. I feel both candidates need their ideas on this to meet somewhere in the middle. To me this is just common sense. I dont see why its so difficult.

i dont agree with aborting after a fetus can survive outside the womb either - unless it is to save the mother or if its because there is something wrong with the baby that will cause it to be stillborn/die.....

but women, (not just young girls) get pregnant and abort all the time - even older women that already had kids and are close to our parents ages abort - say i got pregnant in my 40's and my kids are all almost grown up - to be honest, id probably abort.....its not just teens that are 'irresponsible' that abort but unfortunately because its so taboo women dont talk about abortion.....its not just teens - its married couples too, older women, women of all ages....i just wanted to say that before i forgot

im ets that i am making FH get a vasectomy when we are done with kids so that we dont have to worry about unplanned pregnancies - but say i did get pregnant after he had the procedure - which can happen in rare cases - i would hate to have my right to chose taken away and be forced to have a child that i cant afford - or cant take care of - or whatever the reason is

well at 8 weeks the fetus looks nothing like a baby would after it was given birth so that would be crazy if people actually did this and i dont think most would believe it considering most know what it looks like at 8 weeks

but during different stages its called a specific name

here is info just on baby development for mothers to know, not a pro-choice or anti abortion site or anything like that.

by 3rd week it is called a zygote

by 4th week the embryonic stage begins-at this stage the brain, spinal cord, heart and other organs begin to form. The heart and circulatory system will form

week 5-the heart begins to beat

week 6-facial features begin to form, including an opening for the mouth and ears.

here is a picture at week 7

week9- hair follicles and nipples form. And their internal reproductive system forms. Here is a pic at 9 weeks

week10-neurons mutliply
By now, your baby's vital organs have a solid foundation. The embryonic tail has disappeared completely, and your baby has fully separated fingers and toes. The bones of your baby's skeleton begin to form.

This week, your baby's brain will produce almost 250,000 new neurons every minute.

Your baby's eyelids are no longer transparent. The outer ears are starting to assume their final form, and tooth buds are forming as well. If your baby is a boy, his testes will start producing the male hormone testosterone.

week 11-babies genitalia will develop and NOW at week 11 it is officially called a fetus

week 12-fingernails and toenails appear

so thats all during the first trimester, and as far as the baby develops by then

yeah and thats even crazier to me because older people preach to teens all the time and then assume they cant get pregnant themselves. For Gods sake, there are ways to prevent getting pregnant. Ive done it for almost 8 YEARS!! 8 YEARS and not one false alarm because I refuse to make a mistake. Its NOT HARD. And Im not including victims of rape, Im talking about people in relationships who think that one time they dont use a condom wont affect them. When I was off the pill and DH tried to jump my bones I practically kicked him in his nuts.

YES there are alot of older women and women in their 20's and 30's who have abortions, it definitely is not just teens. I think it makes it worst, a 15 year old being naive is one thing but somebody else is different. And here is my thing, yes i know people in their 30's who have it but i also know those in their 30's who have had quite a few abortions. Youre an adult and should know better, yes mistakes happen but when it keeps happening then i am sorry that is different.
