NWR: What do you think are the pro's and Con's of commuting into the city from

Long Island? Does any of your FH's currently work in the city? Do you mind this? Would you mind it? Just wondering what everyone's thougts are on this subject.. thanks.

Well I am a commuter I have been commuting from Long Island to NYC for 9 1/2 years....The reason I do it the $$ ~ If I would work on Long Island my salary would be 1/2 of what I make on Long Island ~ It is gruling sometimes and can be tough at times! I travel from the Ronkonkoma Train station to Penn everyday! I recently changed my hours from 7 - 3 pm at least I am home for dinner in the past I did not get home until 8:00 pm ish - that stunk...But once you do it for alittle bit - it is not so bad...I would rather travel on the train than bumper to bumper traffic on LIE...

If my job wasn't as good and the pay wasn't good, I wouldn't do it, but I have a good job with an awesome boss and good pay..much more than I could make on LI doing what I do.
