NWR: What OTC allergy medicine do you take??

Original post by lori7570

I've been taking Claritin for a few years and I feel like I may have a tolerance to it. I've tried Allgra in the past, it also worked for a while than stopped.

Since I'm getting to the end of my Claritin I was thinking of trying Zrytec...anyone have any experiences with this?

I never had any relief from OTC allergy meds.
I've been having a horrible allergy season, and I got a prescription for Allegra-D. That, plus 2x day neti pot and another prescription nasal spray has finally given me some relief!

I went through the same thing, I changed to zyrtec about a year ago and it is still working very well

have you ever tried going for weekly allergy shots rather than loading up on allergy meds

I've been thinking of doing this...the only sucky thing is that it could take 6 months-1year before it is effective.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!!

My sister used to get them done and it would only take about 2 weeks for them to start working for her and she wouldn't have to take any OTC meds along with them

I like Zyrtec for when I need it.

I take a Zyrtec every night before I go to bed during allergy season. I used to take Allegra, but that stopped working, and Claritin keeps me awake.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!
