NWR-Winfixer

Okay so my laptop at home has been ridiculously slow and takes forever to load things, and its typicall very fast. So I've been getting these popups for WinFixer, I have McAfee, lots of antispywares, so it blocks it from downloading, but the popups are still coming steadily. I went to geekstogo.com and got some info and starting cleaning it before work this morning. But its still running slow and I was not on long enough to see if they were still popping up. Any suggestions, help, or sites to check on.

I found WinFixer when I googled it and apparently it said that no virus scanners and securities can detect it. Any help Much appreciated!!! TIA Nina

Edited to say....the only sites I go on at home are yahoo, LIW, and sometims MySpace, and now I can't even get on LIW at home because it takes eons to load!!

try ad aware. do a search on yahoo. do you use internet explorer? alot of things get thru on internet explorer, so you may want to switch. try mozilla firefox. and you can decorate it too !

i had a problem like that 2 years ago and i had my brother fix it. it was some trojan that chanegd the whole home page. he fixed it by using hijack this.

trojans can be a real b*tch to find and get off your computer. they get thru best on internet explorer.

for a last resort if this doesnt work is reformatting. i just did it last week and i erased my whole hard drive (i backed it all up). it took a few days to update and stuff, but it was so worth it. i could have cleaned out the whole registry, but i dont know exactly how to do that.

maybe you can bring it to micro center and have them take a look at it for you. it will cost money though.
