NWR:where can i sell used clothes?

So I posted a few threads down about selling my son's clothes that he outgrew and after thinking about it I hope I didn't offend anyone by assuming that ppl would want to buy used clothing. So I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of any thrift shops that buys gently used clothes. I normally take it to the clothes drop bins in my area but things are so extra tight right now that I could use every penny possible. So if anyone has any info please let me know.

TIA

I sold alot of my used clothes at my garage sale. I had 3 this year and sold, Old Jackets, pants, shirts and skirts. Nothing overly priced/ Jackets sold between $5 and $10, sweaters I sold betweem $1.00 to $3.00. I made some money off of them and then whatever I had left after, i donated to the church. HTH!

Thank you but unfortunately I live in an apartment building so I have no where to have a garage/yard sale. But I will ask a friend if I could do it at her house but she could be a little touchy at times. But thanks again.

I know there is a place in Lindenhurst that buys and sells used baby clothing/furniture.

I can ask my mom for the name of it, if you would like. You can also try Ebay.

I still have a bunch of brand new clothes that I have never worn and I am going to eventually put them on ebay. :)

Try a consignment shop or try selling them on ebay

Oh would you please ask your mom for the name of the place. If all else fails I will list them on ebay or craigslist.

Thanks

exactally what i would sugest
good luck i have a ton of my daughters clothes she out grew that are basically brand new too.

word of advice......
if they aren't higher end clothes you might want to sell them as a bunch of sets since single peices don't sell for much. In the past i have sold gymboree stuff for pretty much what i paid for them.

Yeah, I will ask her and I will FM you the info , she is driving to work now and I will ask her to email it to me when she gets to work. :)

I am almost certain that they buy used clothing and furniture. We once went to a yard sale where this woman was selling TONS of clothing from her twins. My mother told her about the place, I don't know if it ever was useful to her, but you can try or call them up.
:)

Thank you. Most of the clothes are from Gap, Old Navy, Children's Place and then some are some name brands from Macys.

I would bunch them together based on size/brand and sell them as lots on ebay. I've done this with my own clothing that i 'outgrew'

You can try ebay if they're in really good condition and sell them in lots.

I bring my clothes to Cooky's in Oceanside but you really don't get much.

Why not donate them for the tax deduction?

I usually do donate them and not even take the tax deduction but the only reason I'm trying to sell them is beacuse I need all the cash I could get. We are in such a crunch that I have already sold some old jewelry and I have been even babysitting just to get some extra cash. We were almost about to call off the wedding but then we figured that we would lose so much $$ thgat we just decided to go ahead with it and just cut some things out. Trust me if I didn't need the $$ I would definitely just donate them like I ususally do but I just really need the cash.

then your best bet would be ebay or craigslist.

The consignment shops only give about 40% of what they sell things for and they sell things dirt cheap. I was selling things like designer pocketbooks and leather jackets so if they could get $100 for a pocketbook, I could get $40 but on common clothes, its like pennies you .
