anyone know of a fun trendy bar in nyc?

my cousins are coming to visit and its my 25th bday so i need a new place to go to!

im thinking a place that plays current music that we can dance to or like a martini lounge or like a place with specialty drinks.

any suggestions?

Yeah Metro 53, sutton place, local and that whole strip on 2nd ave are good but definitely different crowd, music and atmosphere, so depends on what you are looking for

thanks everyone! yeah...def. i think im looking for something more dressy and not as casual.

Hudson Hotel is great if there is a mixture of personalities, everyone will feel comfortable. I also went to Room Service recently for a birthday and had a great tim. You can reserve a table and the bill goes to food and drinks. It's actually next to a strip club which you have to walk through if your among the last to leave It's funny after drinks.

LOVE the Hudson Hotel. But not really a dance party atmosphere...

i would try providence, its about 3 floors, if you really want you can get a table, if you do let me know...Fh's close friend is actually the one who does the parties at providence i can tell him to reserve a table for you

Branch NY is on the west side and very nice- a little pricey though.

I used to have an apt on York Ave last yr and my weekends were spent at the 2nd Ave bars-- they are fun!!

Yeah.. we used to go there all the time.. especially when the first opened because it wasnt too well known. But now its CRAZY.. I went there for my last birthday and you couldnt MOVE at all.. plus it took seriously 20 minutes to get a drink

My favorite bar is Zanzibar....west of times square. It has three rooms....bar, restarant, lounge. the food there is AMAZING too...like restaurant quality food. The lounge in the back has a fire pit!!!! perfect for the winters!
