I'm trying to plan a bachelorette party for my friend, and she wants to have it in NYC. We booked hotel rooms, and plan on having a pre-party beforehand with food, drinks and games, but we're having a difficult time coming up with plan for the night. Most of the girls hang out in NYC a lot, including the bride, and aren't into the whole Culture Club/Hunkamania/Birdie's Bachelorette thing. The bride said she doesn't want it to be a typical night out either, but we can't think of anything that stands out from any other night in the city that doesn't fall into that typical bachelorette party thing.
The guests are splitting the hotel cost, so we can't do anything too expensive. We're trying to think of a special place to take her, that'll be a good time. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!

A friend of mine had her bday party at the R bar and we had soo much fun..it had stripper poles all over the place, so it made it soo much fun and we were all taking pics and having fun with the stripper poles lol

Something like that might be perfect for her! She's known as the innocent girl, but give her a few drinks ...
Thank you for the suggestion!

I just had my sister's bachelorette party in the city on Saturday night. We went to Comix NY and saw a great show! Then we went to a couple bars/clubs in the village. The comedy club is new and really nice! It has a nice bar too and the drinks were really good! They also have a good menu if you want to eat. We had a lot of laughs! Alex Borstein from MAD TV and the voice of Lois on 'The Family Guy' was the headliner. They have a bunch of other celebrity comics coming up. Check out their lineup for your date . COMIX NY
HTH!

Thanks! We may have to use that for another night - the bride isn't much into shows, but it sounds like a great idea!

We're going to Lucky Cheng's for mine - Drag queens!!
There's a bar right in the building we may go to afterwards, Voodoo Lounge, or we'll just hop around to some in the area.

Don't know if the bride would be into this but there are pole dance and strip tease classes to take that look hysterical. They seem to be pretty popular. I know you said she isn't into shows but I heard that Naked Boys Dancing is supposed ot be really funny.
Good luck.

One time I went to Madame X's for Diva School which was a blast. We learned the 'art' of strip tease. I highly recommend it. If the link doesn't work, the # is 917.805.3382.
There's also a Sex in the City tour that would be fun and I've seen scavenger hunts planned by Watson Adventures that would probably be fun too.

All great ideas. Thanks ladies! I'll run them by some of the girls.
Any other ideas for fun bars/clubs that are unique?

I went to Mangia e Bevi for mine and I always have to suggest it because it was so much fun. They play great music, and you have dinner and dance on the chairs and with all the guys that work there. Such a great time and total party atmosphere!! Check out their website.

I love Mangia e Bevi! We did that for someone else's and had a great time, so it's on our list but we're trying to find something different.
We're thinking about a booze cruise for a few hours ... has anyone done that?

That's what we're leaning towards - clubs/bars. I'm worried about the cruise thing too because of sea sickness and what if it suuucks? We're stuck there! It's tough, and I hope I'm not being annoying with this thread, because we can't find something that fits what she wants, so we're looking for any suggestions really. Initially she suggested Culture Club because she was told to do that, but once we told her about the club, she realized it wasn't her style. She goes out in the city a decent amount, but mostly to bars with dancing.
I can't think of a 'unique' bar/club other than a bachelorette factory type of place, but that's not what she wants. I mean, maybe a rooftop bar would be something different?
ETA - I almost feel like we shouldn't be going out in the city if she wants something unique because most of our friends are NYC girls.

Re: NYC Bachelorette Party Help
For mine, we started the night off with a striptease lesson at the Penthouse Executive Club and then went to Butter for dinner/drinks. Then we went to Red Rock West on 17th St and 9th Ave - GREAT place for bachelors and bachelorettes - very coyote ugly with girls up on the bar. Rounded out the night dancing at Brother Jimmy's. Good times!!
