NYC Hair & Makeup??

I am looking for somewhere to get my hair and makeup done for my engagement shoot at the end of September. I live in Manhattan (UES). Does anyone know of a very reasonable place/ or even a free makeup trial? I think i should get my hair done as well. I would do it myself but I want to look extra special.

I live on the UES and if you want just a quick blow out you can always go to (i forget the name) the kerastase salon on 74th and 2nd avenue.

For makeup, I would just go to the mac counter or something at Bloomingdales on 59th street. Buy a lipstick and they'll do your makeup...

Yay for another Manhattan girl! I am also on the UES.

Stacy Pitt is beyond fabulous, but she is downtown and does charge for her trials (but she is well worth it). For makeup, try the Chanel counter in Macy's. I had a trial with Tobi last year and she was great. I didn't pay for the trial, but I did tip her.

Maureen and Claudia Pedala are also in Manhattan and both offer free trials, but I wouldn't book a trial if you're not seriously considering booking them (JMO).
