Great email I got.....
I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

>If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents,
> you're 'exotic','different'.
>
> Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, yours is a
> quintessential American story.
>
> If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
>
> Name your kids Willow,Trig and Track, you're a maverick.
>
> Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
>
> Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.
>
> If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer,
> become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter
> registration drive registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a
> Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a
> district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state
> Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States
> Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and
> serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs
> committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.
>
> If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council
> and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as
> the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to
> become the country's second highest ranking executive and next in line
> behind a man in his eighth decade.
>
> If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2
> beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.
>
> If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and then left your
> disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month,
> you're a true Christian.
>
> If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education,
> including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of
> society.
>
> If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence
> only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system
> while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.
>
> If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a
> position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her
> inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's
> values don't represent America 's.
>
> If your husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI

Not to mention that it's not even true that your parents need to have lived here for X # of years to be a citizen IF you were physically born on US soil. These articles (and the fact that nothing comes from them) just show that they're being written by people who are guessing about what the law is in the first place.

I think thats a bogus story like the rest of lies the republicans are throwing at American people as they grasp for straws and try anything they can to get elected

for the record I am a pretty hard core Republican so I should get some points for being the one to post the snopes article.

Tilde dont forget radical conservative!

Catie, youre totally right. Politics can get very very dirty and there are many misstatements on both sides. Both sides take whatever little thing they can and blow it up and run with it. Theyr eboth definitely guilty of that and it happens in every election.

And as far as the OP, LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that email. I just forwarded it to my communist husband.

You're right! Before this even happened they were saying McCain is not a US citizen b/c he was born in a Naval hospital that wasn't on US soil!

yeah, like Panama or something I remember hearing?? Either way, none of it can be that big of a deal or they wouldn't have gotten this far already so it's a dead issue on both sides I think.

Catie I heart you!

well i just get tired of hearing oh the republicans will make up anything while the democrats are doing the same thing. I get it in work all the time. I work for the state while I go to school (so thankfully not a career job at my office lol) but there are ALOT of liberals in my office. They think just because I am young I don't know anything about politics. And they act as if I should be on their side instead of swaying towards the Republican side... so I get a little attitude when it comes to politics now. I want people to know that I do have a right to vote for who i want haha.

Catie, thats horrible they treat you that way. Let me tell you, I am voting Democrat but I respect your vote totally. And thats the problem with people, they cant just sit there and say, 'Okay I respect your point, I may not agree, but youre entitled to your opinions' Instead youre made to feel stupid and my FAVORITE word people call people who dont agree with them 'ignorant'.

yeah it stinks. i just keep my mouth shut, but today I couldn't. the guy who sits next to me is older (like in his late 50's) but he thinks i am very 'naive and ignorant' as well lol. he said oh well your just voting like that because your parents are probably republicans. they are haha but i am registered as independent bec i wanted to be able to make my own decision and not be influenced by my parents. which i haven't this whole election i have watched the conventions and the news (both fox and other channels) to see both sides. but the guy was like almost yelling at me that i should be ashamed that i dont want taxes raised for those who make like $200,000 a year and that why would i ever want a woman that stupid in office. i had to walk away

WOW!!! Okay you definitely should not even talk politics with that guy. And dont even try and prove yourself to him. What an a-hole.
