Oct/Nov Brides

So what did you do this past week and weekend?

FH, my mom (she's more creative than me) and I got a lot done . .. I think this is one of the most productive weeks/weekends I've had.

We:

booked our flights to NY (FH and I live in FL now and getting married home in NY)

ordered our menus

bought the easels we are putting on the tables to hold the menus AND spray painted them the goldish color we wanted

bought cards for the table names

ordered placecards

called the calligrapher and let her know the
placecards will be ready for her this week

decided on bridesmaids gifts and went to several different malls to get them all,

decided on parents gifts (but didn't buy yet - next paycheck)

ordered personalized water bottles (to put in the valet'd cars)

bought comfy blue panty-shorts underwear to wear as my something blue under gown

Designed and outlined ceremony programs. and bought the paper for them.

Still need to have my final hair trial and make a decision on my hair, finalize my jewelry plans, buy parents gifts, get all the stuff we ordered and put it all together, get groomsmen gifts, seating chart (ew!), final fittings, finish up programs, shop and pack for honeymoon, buy an outfit for rehearsal dinner... and probably some more stuff I'm forgetting.

Anyone else care to share?

Re: Oct/Nov Brides

Yesterday it was pouring here in NJ, so FH and I just lounged around, and talked up ideas for the wedding.

Today is another story:

We are taking his 4 nephews who are in the bridal party to get their tuxes as well as FH's tux

Go to Kinkos and copy the music we want for the ceremony.

Go to Long Island, drop the music off for the band

Go meet with the rabbi

And finally we we have a 7:00 pm appointment with our BM at the Crest Hollow to do our menu.

Oh, and I think we are going to hire a DOC so I'll be making lots of phone calls in the car between NJ and LI

OMG! you did ALL that this weekend? I'm tired just reading it.

I picked up my veil yesterday and it is FABULOUS!!!!!!! Barron's is just awesome! Can't say enough about their quality, service and prices

FH went to get his suit for the wedding altered.

We spent most of yesterday bumming around and it was GREAT!!!

The only wedding related thing we did this weekend was work on our programs. We did nothing all weekend, it's great! We took care of a lot last weekend so we can enjoy this weekend.

The only stuff left is the BP and parent gifts, my earrings, putting together my something old something new something borrowed something blue, shoes and slippers for the day of.

I think at that point I can finally say we are officially DONE!!!!

I worked a little more on menus, but nothing significant. Michaels ran out of the paper I started to use (I have now decided to do one per place setting). Do you think it makes much if some are 'cream' and some 'cottonwood'? The colors are similiar and I figure if we don't mix the colors on the tables, I should be fine.

I bought ribbon for the florist that matches the girls BM's dress for their bouquets.

I had my hair trial yesterday (just decided on a stylist this past week!).

Tonight we are having dinner with FH's parents to go over their family's seating.

And today, I'm getting a massage! That's the best thing I can do for myself and everyone around me, b/c I'm going to pass out from exhaustion & stress!! Plus, I feel like I'm getting sick, so maybe the masseuse can just out the germs!

ETA: I also ordered a rehearsal dinner dress which is going to be huge but I went to speak to the tailor about it yesterday. (Pic included)

And, last night I ordered a bracelet for the wedding day (pic included).

And, went to try on a potential 80s prom dress for my bachelorette party!! My BM has one that her cousin wore to the prom in the 80s - emerald green with a gigantic bow on the waistline - I just need to get the dress shortened.

I ordered it from www.overstock.com. It's an Armani dress and I got it for only $200. Of course I'll probably have to spend another $100 + on alterations b/c they only had a size 10 in stock and I'm a 2 - but it's still oworth it - it's exactly what I had in my head.
