Today is 7 months until my wedding. I feel like there is still so much more to do. How are you girls doing?

Re: October brides, how is it going?
i never thought that invitations would be as difficult as they are. my fi and i apparently have expensive tastes...i think we have found a book that we like and we are going to pick them from there....i just didn't think they would be as difficult as they are.

Between the cake and the invitations I can't make a decision!!!! I have an idea of what I am doing w/ favors, and 'stuff' but just won't purchase yet. The STDs are done, just have to do the mail merge to get the envelopes done/printed and mail them out, which is suppose to be on Saturday which we have planned to do all wedding stuff, STD, the visit the venue w/ my mother-she has not seen it yet, register at the last place--don't know if it should be Macys, Linens N Things or BB&B, or Pier One...hmmm...

I do not have engagement photos, or STD's. Not doing them.
I still have to book limos and video. Can't decide if we will do video, it's not in the budget but at this point, ugh...I feel like its a slippery slope from overspending in one area to throwing the whole budget out the window.

Re: October brides, how is it going?
We're strange I guess.. We didn’t care about photos much. We just wanted our proofs ALL of them and we wanted the video unedited. We are getting 2 VHS and 1 DVD plus one unedited VHS. I know photos last a lifetime and blah but my parents wont care after a few months and neither will his family (which is why they are getting folios instead) and WE know we aren’t gonna pull out the album but pretty much only now and then and a FAR now and then at that.
DVD ? Now that we can stop.. and giggle.. freeze frame the look on his face. Now THAT is worth it to me.

Ok we are still trying to nail down our guestlist (hate that) and send out our STD's. We still can't decide between Italy or Hawaii for our honeymoon and I really am not enjoying dealing with limo people. How come they are all so expensive?

Re: October brides, how is it going?
I am a mess. We have barely gotten started. I have the hall, my dress and the rabbi. Besides that we have not done much I am frantic. We have been visiting DJ and Photo vendors.. Any good ideas? We are way behind and have to get my butt in gear. Just found out one of my bridesmaids is pregnant and is due 3 weeks after wed. Sunday we are looking for BM dresses.

Gosh I feel your pain. I got engaged over valentine's weekend, and the only thing I have is the hall, my dress, and the rabbi. I have been in an absolute panick about all that has to be done. Everytime I go to vendors they tell me the oct. and nov. dates are booking up quickly. So, sorry for your stress, but it feels good knowing I am not the only one. Hopefully all us October brides will get through this together!!

Re: October brides, how is it going?
I havent been on here for awhile but I am off from work this week and trying to get more done. We booked flowers tonight, and rebooked our honeymoon to Puerto Rico. The first time we booked our honeymoon, we booked a crusie on a new ship around Hawaii but we got a call that the ship sunk in the boat yard!!!
We have flowers, church, officiant, reception hall, a few hotel rooms blocked (Wyndam would only let me block 9), limos, dj, video, photographer, some BM gifts and we ordered some invitation samples. Thats it so far, but we have to get moving.
I want to settle on our invitations and get our wedding bands ordered next, finalize on the BM and flower girl dresses (BM dresses have been torture since I cant find anything I like that is affordable and looks good on all) and pick up the rest of the BM and GM gifts. Oh and I have to call back the lady about precana... anyone doing that yet?

Re: October brides, how is it going?
I got engaged in Decemeber and vendors have been telling me Oct & Nov dates 'are booking up quickly' since then. Sometimes I think it is all a bunch of BS to pressure you to book with them...

Re: October brides, how is it going?
Hey, Michelle! Glad to know I'm not the only frantic bride. I have wedding dreams/nightmares constantly!
It's weird, though, all the halls we looked at told us that Oct/Nov were booking up quickly, but then when we narrowed it down to three choices, they all turned out to have a lot of dates still open. I'm hoping that turns out to be true for the rest of the vendors, too!
We're working on getting a band now. So far one of the ones I wanted is already booked. Keeping my fingers crossed that the other one is open!

Re: October brides, how is it going?
So, I ordered my invites on Saturday. And they faxed me the proof today. I'm very excited that this is underway.
Now I need to concentrate on: Officiant (FH's job. We're having a little trouble, but he's working on it) Honeymoon Cards for the guestbook/good wishes book, pens and a fish bowl to put the cards in. (found the perfect scrapbook on Saturday also) Shoes for the BMs Tuxes
