October brides, how is it going?

Original post by sandj100304

Today is 7 months until my wedding. I feel like there is still so much more to do. How are you girls doing?

We mailed our STDs last week and my FMIL is getting a lot of calls about them--so far everyone says they're coming. A relief because I'm worried about making our minimum!

The bad news is all the bands we want are booked, so we're starting to search for other bands.

Next I have to work on flowers. I don't know anything about flowers!

i went to that wedding shoe store. they had a decent amount of shoes, but my dress is ivory and i don't think that i want to die my shoes. i know that grace shoes come in ivory. i need to find a place that carries them. i know bridal reflections does.

whoooooohoooooooo
FINALLY mailed out my STDs

Been so lazy with this.

Finally got them out though. So relieved.

Found out that between his mother and his grandmother they have 30 invites.
My parents have about the same (though a LOT less are likely to show up) and then add in my 'mother's family' I am at around 80 invites. Add in the office and Im closer to 95. Then the girls here I intend to send an invite to and I push just BARELY over 100 invites.

Knowing most of my father's family isnt showing up. You think I should just buy 100 invites and start with those that I KNOW are going or likely to go and then go backward from there?

Whatcha think?
(PS: that means LIW gets dibbs LOL)

Congrats!! I just finally mailed out my STDs the other day too!

I would order 125 just to be safe. If you are just barely over 100, they always say to order at least 20 more than you think you will need. There will inevitably be last minute invitees and you don't want to have to spend alot of money to reorder.

*** JimmysBride*** The shoe store I was telling you about is: Bridal Shoe Boutique
351 Old Country Road Carle Place
516-876-6577
I just found out about another store from the Clipper Magazine that gets delivered to my house. It had two 20% off coupons for a store called Dyeing for You in Lindenhurst. They sell bridal shoes there too.

I checked 2 more things off of my list..
Booked Rehearsal Dinner at Villa DaVanzo in Amityville. And scheduled Pre-Cana.

Re: October brides, how is it going?

Yay! We finally found a band. All of our first choices were booked already but someone recommended Opera 3000. My sister/MOH went to see them and liked them and now we've booked them.

I'm so relieved.

My pew bows came in the mail from ebay.
They are very pretty. White bows w/ red rose in the middle. Theyare a little smaller than I expected, but very nice!
