Off-Season Brides

I am planning a Jan 2004 wedding. I have seen with regards to receptions there is a VAST difference in prices. Is it similar for other wedding services? Has anyone that is getting married this coming January/February seen price differences when they went to bok vendors?

Re: Off-Season Brides

my sister is getting married in january. in general, everything seems to be cheaper. The florist, dj, venue and even the church! It's a great way to save some $. And quite honestly, I think a January February wedding is super romantic. Good luck!

Re: Off-Season Brides

i'm getting married in February and pretty much all the vendors have given us cheaper prices b/c 'not much is going on during the winter months.' I think they just want some definite work during the winter so they'll agree on cheaper prices. They'd rather book for less money than not have anything booked at all.

Re: Off-Season Brides

I am getting married on 2/22/03 and expected the prices to be a bit cheaper. We are still paying $80 per head plus tip and tax, it works out to be about $97 per head. We are getting married at the The North Ritz Club. The Fox Hollow was $55 per head for Friday Feb. 14th Valentine's Night, I thought that was great. But I really wanted Saturday since I have allot of guests traveling.
The Stewart Manor in Garden City was $55 for a sat. night and Millerigde Cottage was $70 for Sat.
GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Off-Season Brides

Every catering hall I looked at with my FH told us that June, September & October were the most expensive months to get married. If you wanted to get married during those prime months at a cheaper rate, Friday nights usually offered a lower rate, as did a Sunday early afternoon. My SIL 2B got married in December and said her rates weren't that great, perhaps because a lot of catering halls are being booked for holiday functions... My other SIL 2B is getting married this February (on Valentine's Day), and she's getting a great rate. It's also a Friday... I don't think the service will be different in any way at all. I just think there is more of a demand to get married during a certain time of the year, that's all... The December wedding for my SIL 2B was outrageous. The food was excellent, they offered 2nd's, everything was the top of the line. I'm sure that your wedding will be just as wonderful, regardless of what month it is your celebrating the big day!!::

Re: Off-Season Brides

Most of the vendors that I ahve talked have given me a discount or upgrades due to the wedding date. My date is 3/15/03. Send me an email and I will let you know the difference in the price of the hall. It was a very big difference!!!!

Re: Off-Season Brides

We booked March 29, 2003 for the same reason. We were able to get more for our money at milleridge because that is an off month for them. They lowered the room mininmum and we didn't have to pay room fee. Most reception places will work with you if you book in January to March.
