help me decide...what do you think. we're getting all black tuxes. my FH will have off-white shirt with off-white tie - not exactly an ivory. off-white to match my diamond white gown. the guy at the tuxedo shop said that i should order standard white shirts for the groomsmen/dads. they will have black ties (black bowties for the dads). what have you girls had for your guys? or what have you picked out for your upcoming weddings? will we look 'yellow' next to the groomsmen?

I have an ivory dress and at the tux place, they said everyone should wear an ivory shirt, otherwise, if some wear white, it will make the ivory look dingy.

Oh my, I didn't even think about this. I just asked FH and he said he chose a white shirt for the GM. He's wearing an ivory tux and his shirt is ivory. My dress is diamond white, but is closer to ivory.
I may have to change the GM shirts! Thanks guys!

you should match up the fabric swatches. I had an ivory gown. We were going to have my DH wear an ivory vest and ivory shirt, but when we matched up the swatches, the tux shop's ivory was MUCH darker than my gown's ivory. So, we had DH wear white and it was a perfect match! Go figure...

Isn't diamond white...really white? Why would your DH get ivory?
Either way i think they should all be one color matching you

I did bring a swatch when we picked out the vest (which is also off-white). The book calls it ivory, but it is more of a white. One place couldn't even match the diamond white swatch. Girls.....be sure to check the colors and have a sample in front of you before ordering!

Thanks. My dress is called diamond white, but when I went to get my veil, it matched better with the ivory and not the diamond white tulle.
I think butterfly2878 said it best. It best to have a swatch with you. Now, if I only could remember where I placed that swatch.....

If you have your Fh and GM in diferent color shirts it may look funny. If they are all in off-white noone will even realize that they're not true white. We had everyone (dad's included) in off white shirts.
