We aren't doing:
OOT baskets
Cry packs
Slipper or bathroom baskets
Programs
Unsure about a guest book?

We are doing:
Lots of DIY (or will attempt to) like:
Cardbox
Unity candle
Save the dates
Maybe wedding invites unsure?
Maybe centerpieces unsure?
Favors
and albums for us and parents

DIY Projects:
OOT Boxes
Cry Packs
Programs
Menus
Invitations
Bathroom Baskets
Memory Candles
Sand Ceremony
Place Cards
Wish Bowl
Candy Buffet

Not Doing:
Slipper Basket

Basically, we're doing everything, but my fh and i are doing it all ourselves. We have more than enough time to do all this stuff as weekend projects and I'm very crafty and LOVE doing this stuff anyway.

We're saving $ on flowers. Most likely I'll be making the centerpieces. Also, I want to use 'in season' flowers.

- We are having a winter wedding (tons of stuff was thrown in and the price was much cheaper)

- Somebody gave me a card box so it was free

- I am going to use snowflakes everywhere and will get them when they go on sale after Christmas this year.

- Just going to get flowers for myself and the bridal party...Ill make the centerpieces out of material that will go on sale after Christmas.

- Im not doing cry packets, no OOT bags, bathroom baskets, slipper baskets, etc...

Since we are having a winter wedding as well, I will be at all the stores bright & early on Dec.26th this year!!!

Also, I have DIY ideas for a lot. Probably doing the invitations, menus, card box, programs myself.

Go on ebay ladies, they have tons of stuff that is super cheap!

i am not doing all of that excess stuff like cry packets, etc..

and mostly using what the RH will give me (placecards, menu, etc)

I am not crafty at all but i will attempt to make my own card box!

We're not doing the cry packs, slippers, menus and probably a few other things I can't think of right now.

Anything that I can make to save, I will (Cardbox, runner, etc.!)

Re: OFFICAL: How to save money/where to cut corners on your wedding Thread!

we will be DIY as much as possible. I started today trying to make the Martha Stewart Crepe Paper Roses, the first was frustrating, but they are pretty, so I may try and make a lot of them between now and 2010 to do our center pieces lol.

We are doing our own

Invites (blue pocket folds, go the material for 34 for 100!!!)
Save the Dates
Thank Yous
Favors
Possibly centerpieces and flowers

Bought my veil off of ebay and my tiara was $42 in Florida (similar styles are around 200 up here )

Not doing cry packs (people that know they will need kleenex will bring it I figure)
not doing a slipper basket
Not having limos (wedding and reception at the same place)
considering doing my own makeup, will figure that out later. I know I need someone to do my hair though

Having a winter afternoon wedding
getting a friend of the family to do one half of the ceremony, waiting on a quote for the other half.

Thinking instead of flowers for the bridesmaids, a faux fur muff to go with the winter theme. $30<$100 lol

If the ceremony hall provides it *and FH provides a lot* we will be using it.

*edit* oh, probably not doing oot baskets. If someone isn't currently getting married, they probably havent heard of them.

Debating on the rehearsal dinner. If we do have one, I will try and talk in-laws to having a BBQ at their place, cant afford to take everyone out to dinner

Re: OFFICAL: How to save money/where to cut corners on your wedding Thread!

these are all such good idea's girls!!

I will be:
Having a family memeber do my makeup
Making my own monogram
Having a family member make invitations
Cutting down the guest list (BIG TIME)

More than likely:
Not having limo's
Not getting married at my overpriced/too many rules church
make my own centerpieces
family style food serving rather than traditional sit down meal
Having a friends DJ company to do basic music and such(FH's family doesnt dance at all...)
putting off the honeymoon for a while

Will not be doing:
cry packs
petal cones
slipper baskets
programs
grooms cake
super expensive couture dress (i will go to bloomie's and find a pretty plain whtie dress to wear for half the price of a wedding dress...)
