Ok I figured to create the official Westbury Manor 2008 thread for all WM brides (and those who want to peak ) because wellllll we dont have one. I did found one but its from 2003 and its over 100 pages long. So come in and enjoy. HAPPY PLANNING

my friend cant decide between westbury manor & venetian yacht club- i know the 2 are totally different! but she said she might not be able to do the guarantee at ventian & at westbury manor shes thinking of taking the garden room since she knows she can do the guarantee but ventian is so preety w/ the view & westbury manor has gorgeous grounds. i think westbury manor gave her more for her money!

Both of the rooms are georgeous, I peeked inside the Garden Room bec they were setting up for a wedding when I went, I also saw them setting up the cocktail hour with the different countries stations, that looked sooo nice, I am def doing the Asian set up, the Greek setup, and I forgot the others. I have not seen the upstairs really, only when I went to visit my BM in her office. I want to see the bathrooms, and bridal suite (I heard its small but I am not going to be hanging out there) and I heard something about the Photography Lounge or room, where they take pics, have you guys seen that area. Did you know WM has a theatre in there? Its on there website under COnferences. Is there a roof set up with umbrellas I heard that somewhere?

according to Felicia unless you are greek that country is not one of the best choices b/c most people will not eat the food.

I love westbury manor and I loved it from the moment I walked in the door. I think just like the man you picked to marry, you just know. When you walk into the hall or place you want to have you wedding at you'll know. she should follow her heart. b/c if she picks the westbury manor and she really wants venetian will she be disappointed and upset later on.

We never discussed our cocktail hour station choices!!!

I get 6 stations, 2 choices per station.....so I'm going with:

Southern Italy
Carving Table
Asian
Spanish (mmmmmmmm paella!)
Southwestern

We can't decide on the 6th. We may just go with 5 and choose 3 things for two of the stations instead.

And they threw in the mashed potato bar.

What are you guys choosing?

VYC is nice if you want a waterview wedding, some people like garden weddings. But WM gives sooooooo much things and FOOD, tons and tons of FOOD and extra goodies. I am sure other RH's do the same but they are all different. My FH and I dislike catering halls we wanted to be different and WM was the one. The Garden Room is really nice for a smaller wedding, really nice, great views and its right across from the library, and the lib is soooooooo nice

shes trying to see about the dj situation b/c its against the wall- does it seem like it would to crowded with people at the tables & too loud?

I get to pick 5 stations with a total of 10 items. But I may ask my BM to give me 6 because I want the Southwestern station, FAJITASSSSSSSSSSS. We are def going with the Greek, Asian, Pasta, Carving, one of the Italian stations and I want the Southwestern. And I am sure everyone got the menu that lists all of the cold displays that you automatically get.

How many people are she having in the Garden Room? I believe the positions of the table, if you positiion them in a certain way, it would be comfy for everyone and the DJ

I was actually torn between the same two RH's! But I went to look at them both again and just realized that I felt more at home at the Westbury Manor, and that I felt like you had more for your money, and their were more picture opportunities. Also, my dad pointed out the accoustics at the VYC with the marble floor would be horrible compared to the WM. I was also concerned that if my reception was upstairs at the VYC my guests would have to travel downstairs to go outside and that might be annoying where as WM they can just walk outside the door. I have a few smokers in the family, lol...

Yeah I have alot of smokers in my family, so its sooo good that they can just go right outside and sit and enjoy and still not miss anything about the wedding bec you can still see everything inside even though you are outside. Some RH's you have to go in a maze to get outside. I want my guests to be happy

Yeah def ask for the Martini Bar if your CP are going to have that theme, how cute is that!!!!!. I had a choice of MB or Tropical Bar. I have never seen the Marini Bar w/ ice slide at another wedding, that is something that will stand out and people will rave about. Def ask them to put it in for you

thats very true!! i think i will tel her to look at both places again! i hear ya about smokers they can just go outside if they are at westbury manor plus people who just want to get away from the reception area they can just go to the lounge area like the guys or older people- LOL! plus at westbury manor theres more options for pictures

Whatelse are good freebies to have thrown in? I know my family and my fh's family are not big drinkers.
