Re: Office Temperatures...

xjulietx--I feel ya on the LIRR, but I like it freezing than when it is so hot. It smells gross when the air isn't on. And how about the platform when you are waiting for the train. Tell me you don't feel like you are going to pass out because you have never felt heat like that in your life!

Re: Office Temperatures...

Oh boy, the nastiness of the LIRR is a whole other topic Too hot, too cold. If the A/C is broken, you are out of luck, it's not coming back during your ride home. But what is even better is that the heat never seems to work in the winter. This whole winter, I rode in from Brentwood every day with heavy winter clothes, a wool coat, gloves, scarf and hat. I didn't take my HAT off for the ride in. Not good.

Today I am comfortable in my office (more so than when I was in a cube)

Re: Office Temperatures...

in the winter on the LIRR my nose is always ice cold. The rest of my would be ice cold too, but I am bundled up head to toe! It is ridiculous! My ride isn't as long as yours, but it is long enough.

Re: Office Temperatures...

Sorry Kim didn't mean to get you all worked up. I hate the pushing the shoving and the STUPID A$$ conductor who punched my ticket as MALE instead of FEMALE. So last week when they have Punch day again they look at it and accuse me of lending my ticket to someone else. I told them it's a mail & ride my name is on it, and the conducotr last week must have made a mistake, the conductor says we can take it your ticket for this.. I say go ahead and try it, so she takes her pen and writes FEMALE ONLY across the top

Re: Office Temperatures...

I have the space heater on today. As I do any other 'summer' day. It 'claims' to be 70 degrees in here...but they lie.

In the winter I drink a lot of tea...I actually use the hot cup to warm up my nipples. Damn men.

Re: Office Temperatures...

lol, are they not the rudest people?? I was in the city late a couple of weeks ago because I had to go out with clients. I left my bag at work cause I didn't feel like shlepping the big thing out with me and by mistake I forgot to take my ticket out. So I get on the train with nothing but a credit card and the lady was so mean to me. SHe was like, 'you are gonna have to get off at woodside and find another way home.' Thankfully some guy offered to pay for me. That reminds me, I need to send him his money back.

But c'mon, was she serious? It's 12 at nigiht and the lady wants to drop me off without a dollar to my name in woodside? People are unreal!

Re: Office Temperatures...

About the LIRR..How about when it rains and the freaking water starts dripping from the ceiling near the doors inside the train all over the first few sets of seats..But there is no room to sit because it is so crowded everyday and the poor people standing near the doors get drenched too! I hate the LIRR!! It is not worth the $189 I pay each month!!!

Sorry..just needed to vent..

Re: Office Temperatures...

That was nice that the guy helped you out. I would have been a biotch and made them throw me off the train. Jeez you made a mistake and you forgot your wallet you weren't some skell trying to get a free ride

Dawnie I pay $246, I liked Metro North a lot better

'Gottta Love the clean train campaign'...don't you even try to put your feet on the seats! There isn't a seat available to put your feet on!

Re: Office Temperatures...

Our building was built in 1928. The AC was installed in later years. The floor we are on has 2 AC Systems one was installed in the early 60's and the other in the early 90's. The new system tries to compensate for the old system so I have people on one end of the floor with blankets on their laps and people on the other end (where the President's office is ) dieing of heat! I have the building engineer up here every other day trying to regulate it. My office is always an icebox!
