~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

Original post by TGs Lady 22908

I've decided that I'm a brat and wanted a Fox Hollow thread all my (OUR) own since 'The New Fox Hollow' thread is way, way old (and way, way long).

Here we can share ideas, vendors, themes, colors, pretty much everything....

So who's with me here?....I know you're out there!!

What's your date?....What room are you in?....

*bump* for other FH brides. I know I made another thread but this one seems to be more active.

I'm having my CH in the WGP and my reception in the Briar Fox.

I worked with Ron... ugh. I spoke to the manager and he said you are not stuck with anyone, and you can speak to anyone you like over there. Everyone should be able to help you.
Ken is really nice over there and has been quite helpful.

I'm also using PWP for day of coordination i met James at the showcase back in march and went to a tea party in april and loved him.

you didnt like ron?? he was great with us!

He was AMAZING when he sold us on the date. However he never told us that he only does the sales end, so it was upsetting when he never returned our calls or anything, and even worse when i found out he lied about a lot of things.

for instance...we were told we were the only wedding that day and would be the only wedding on that side of the building even if someone else booked after us... but the other wedding had been booked a year before ours and is in the room right next door to us...the one we're using for our CH and he actually told us if we wanted to switch down the line and have our whole reception in there we could.
when i finally spoke to him about all the things he told us, he said he never said them and that he knows what he's doing. he actually yelled at me and made me cry.

Okay Fox Hollow girls -

I'm in the Winter Garden Pav for the reception..not sure what to do about centerpieces. Totally want to do something with candles - as we're an evening wedding and i think it would look AMAZING in there with candlelight...

Any ideas???

ATTN BRIDES WHO ARE HAVING THEIR CEREMONY AT THE FOX HOLLOW:

Friday afternoon I was at the Fox Hollow dropping off a check and during my bi-monthy questioning session it came up that I do not, under any circumstances want the ceremony set-up they currently have. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful setup and I enjoy the pillars on the aisle and the placement and type of flowers but no offense to anyone but a white plastic (well....it looks plastic I actually don't know what it is) just doesn't rub me the right way and I don't like it and don't want it at my wedding, bottom line it's just not our style. I think it's called a chuppah?? Anyway while I was discussing this with the lady at the Fox, Richard the PWP florist (awesome man, btw) walked by and we had a little chat about how if I gave him a picture he could really re-create any set-up for me, for a added fee, of course....awesome!! no problem. BUT what I feel the most important part is, is that he told me to wait off on choosing/discussing a set-up until January or so because they MIGHT be investing in an alternate chuppah....possibly one that is cast iron. I GOT SO EXITED I THINK I SCARED HIM because that's what I had wanted all along. The ceremony setup at the Jericho Terrace was the photo that I was going to show him for inspiration and they have a cast iron chuppah sooooo in short Richard said that if they wind up getting something new by February I won't have to pay extra $$ for the alternate set-up.

Now let's all cross our fingers and hope they buy a new one before I get married!!! Haha.

Question for you since I see you are having your ceremony there like me - have you met any of their recommended officiants? Any recommendations?

Also, do you know how the Fox Hollow works with rehearsals?

Will they let me reherse my ceremony there on the fri before my wedding?

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

because someone asked. . . This was my sample from RIchard at PWP. We're making some changes (like taking out the baby's breathe and adding more hydrangea and add more flowers around the base of the candles and making the candles shorter) but overall he REALLY got the feeling I was going for

p.s. - there are also going to be votives on the table surrounding the cp.

I told him I wanted as many candles I could put in the room without having to call the fire department.

hmmm interesting
wonder if they will have the new one for my feb. 2nd wedding

i believe they DONT do rehearsals - basically they tell you a few minutes before hand but i could def. be wrong on that one

I wanted a similar CP and when I met with a different florist they told me the stand was too tide? But I originally saw it used in the WGP and by that florist?? It's still my favorite centerpiece.

About the officiant, I never met with any of theirs. I actually booked Rev. Deb Viola, who is a LIW vendor and I LOVE HER TO DEATH!!!

As for rehersal, they told me that we will do a quick run thru right before the actual ceremony (I believe if the bride an groom are not seeing each other before the ceremony, they do the run-thrus seperately).

yes that sample was from the fox hollow florist. i saw it used in the wgp too and that's what sold me on it too.

What did the other florist tell you about it? It was too tide?

Re: ~*~ OFFICIAL '08 FOX HOLLOW BRIDES ~*~

Ok, I'm a fox hollow bride, officially. I just sent out our second deposit and there's no turning back now.

There are some things that are really starting to tick me off though. For one, no one told me about Arthur and the Fox Hollow won't confirm or deny anything. They say Arthur is in 'the main building'.

I feel like I was mislead about the capacity of the Garden Pavillion so I switched my reception to the Briar Fox, and I'll have my cocktail hour in the Winter Garden. This works out for me because i won't constantly be worrying about my guest list, but I signed with them initially because of the WGP.

No one will give me a straight answer about whether or not I actually need a day of coordinator. Telling me that 'the fox hollow will take care of everything' is just not specific enough for this first/only time bride and the whole thing is starting to annoy me.

Ami being unreasonable?

I just had to remind Ronnie to send over my contract so I can sign it. Shouldn't an organization who has been 'doing this for over 20 years' be a little more organized?

Am i having my first Brideszilla moment?
:(
