I was originally going to do all low, but I agree that the room is long and could probably use high CP. All low CPs may get lost in the room, IMO. I think I may do half and half. I also want to use lots of candles. I haven't booked my florist yet.

i think i want to do half & half too - I like the variety of having diff. CPs
I was thinking of putting the higher ones at the tables that are closer to the bar bc im worried that if they're on the tables that are closer to the dance floor, the view from the closer to the bar tables might be blocked by the CPs

idk if that would look weird tho

Right now i'm doing all high centerpieces and I'm kind of on the fence about whether or not to add uplighting. My colors are eggplant, pewter with pops of green but i'm doing all white orchids/branches CPs.

I can't wait until some 2011 Woodlands girls start getting married!!!!

Thanks but Duet is totally booked the day of our wedding . In fact, they are booked every weekend in Sept except for the 24th at the moment. It sucks because I would have loved to use them.

I think I'm first which is scary!

Question for my fellow Woodlands girls

I'm still on the fence about doing some uplighting. Does anyone have any pictures of uplighting at the Woodlands?

I don't know want to take away from the charm of the room but on the other hand, I don't want the room to be too dark either.

I'm using After Hours Entertainment as my DJ. They are a recommended vendor for The Woodlands. They have YouTube clips of their dj and entertainment services and you can see the uplighting in most of the videos. Here is the link, hope its helpful to you:

Woodlands Brides-

I'm getting married May 28, 2011 at the Woodlands. I recently went for a visit and was really upset about how bad the carpets looked in the bathroom. They were coming up all over the place and there were dirt stains everywhere. I emailed Margaret about them and she said they were getting a quote to replace them.
This was a couple of months ago and i think if a bunch of us bug them, they may actually replace them.

I'm not sure if you have been there in a while, but its gotten pretty bad.

I think the bathroom being clean and is very important. Even the chairs in the bathroom were filthy. Its such a nice place- they should really do something about it.

Thoughts?

PERFECT TIMING! I JUST emailed the GM, Dave about this! I met him in November and mentioned that the bathroom carpets were so worn and they are buckling, which could cause people to trip. I agree that the more of us that complain about this, the faster it will get done. It's such a small area, I can't imagine it would take so long to fix or cost much $. When I booked with them, there was a different GM and he said he already had carpet samples for the bathroom. I guess they dropped the ball on it.

I am also going to forward my email to Margaret now. I recently met her as well. Let's make this happen!

Do you have the GM's email? I will email him as well.

Good news! I heard back from the GM.

He said the wood floors (dance floor, drawing room floor and the golf bar) are scheduled for the 1st week in Feb to be refinished. Also the carpeting in the bathroom and the solarium will be replaced very shortly.

So happy!
