Hey everyone-
I booked at The Woodlands a few weeks ago for 7/29/2012...I am so excited! After 24 places it was the only one I walked out of and really loved.. I am a little concerned though..Margaret is on maternity leave, so I have never met her, and from all your posts, it seems that we are on our own as far as questions or concerns go. We would need to contact them for everything, am I right? Also we have been dealing with a general manager Steve, who we love, but someone said the GM was Dave...this makes me nervous! About the branch arch, I was quoted for around a thousand..My FH and I are doing an interfaith marriage ceremony so it wont just be an arch but a full chuppah...Let me know what Pedestals says, I need ideas... Excited for pictures..Also what are all your ideas for centerpieces...I wanted candles/candelabras...thoughts?

Oh wow. Ours is 8/20 and I didn't realize the tasting occurs only once a month. The June tasting is booked, so we have to go in July. I also think they should be contacting us about this! I would have preferred to go earlier.

I also just found out that they are taxing the 20% service charge, which I didn't think they did.

FYI Our wedding is 7/16 and no one contacted me about doing a tasting, I contacted them and it was set up for 6/22....ok but quite a lot closer than I thought it would be...now it was pushed back to the 28th, basically 2.5 weeks before the wedding. Fortunately I am super easy going but I wanted to let you all know to CONTACT them early about your tasting!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this. I just called and the July tasting is already full, so the only one left before my wedding is the August one. I think I should have been contacted...if I waited any longer and didnt call myself, the August one could have been filled.

Definitely call early to set yours up!

i might be seeing you there! I want to call to make an appt for the august one bc FH's schedule is insane and I think sept/oct are going to be hard for him to make

That would be awesome! Its Tuesday August 9th, just so you know. My FH's schedule is crazy too and thats why I would have liked more options...he's going to have to take off from work for this but the one is July he wouldn't have had to. Not the end of the world, but its important for people to know to call ahead.

awesome! Thanks for letting me know the date!

Hello fellow Woodlands brides

So... we had our tasting last night and overall we were very impressed!! I LOVED all of the passed apps that they gave us and everything served at the gathering table (which I was kind of surprised about because usually I'm sort of underwhelmed by the cold appetizer/salad station at weddings)

As far as the main courses went -- we were all a big fan of the filet mignon! and the chilean sea bass was excellent as well!

Unfortunately, I was not that happy with the chicken dishes they served. We got to try 3 of them -- the parmesan crusted chicken breast, the pan seared chicken breast with lemon and the duck. The parmesan crusted chicken breast was decent, but basically your run of the mill chicken parmesan dish. The flavors of the lemon pan seared chicken breast were great, but it was a little dry -- hopefully it was just a fluke because that's sort of the one we were leaning towards choosing for our menu. The duck itself I thought was actually VERY good! But I wasn't a big fan of the wild rice that came with it.

Overall though I was EXTREMELY happy with the tasting. The service was excellent and the open bar was great too It seems like they are really trying to update the place too which I was pleasantly surprised by! They have beautiful new signs and have replaced the bathroom carpets. The GM, Steve, told my Dad that they are fixing up everything little by little when they have free nights where no event is booked.

I am SO HAPPY with my choice in the Woodlands and I can't wait to get married there! Everyone seems totally accommodating and willing to cater to your requests

80 days to go! yay!

This summer needs to seriously slow down!! FH and I are going for our marriage license tomorrow and we're going to The Woodlands on Saturday to meet with Steve to choose our linens and plan our menu.

So excited!!

For those girls who's weddings are coming up shortly before or after mine -- what 1st course option are you leaning towards?? I'm so undecided!

I went with the roasted pear salad.

My wedding is in about 3 weeks and I am flipping out! So much left to do and I am so nervous!

Are you guys having a DOC?

Originally I planned on saving the extra cash and doing everything myself -- but i'm getting nervous now because I have SO MANY little doodads that I'm bringing over to decorate the RH with

We are using Bravura for our ceremony, CH and reception and we couldn't be happier- they are the best!!!

The dancefloor has the perfect little pocket for the DJ on one side too which is great so it maximizes dancing space since the dance floor is not the biggest.

OMG this sounds awesome!! I'm going to call and ask about this! They didn't mention this when we went for our tasting in June! I would love to have that instead of the asian station!

there are two other new ones- one is a Coney Island station that has kielbasa and other meats and i believe pretzels and different types of mustards. the other one is a Fiesta station that has fajitas and stuff like that. They all sound amazing!!!
