Hi Ladies! I'm Kyona. This is new to me so forgive me if you're on a new topic.
I love Cake Man's red velvet cake. I'm thinking about ording a small one for my bridal party. We may call it the 'grooms cake'. Everyone else can eat the cake from the catering hall. I'm also going to cut up the traditional (black) rum cake as a favor.
This thread is a great idea! I can't believe this is my first time seeing it.

I was going to use him for my wedding cake but he wanted a 60 dollar consultation and I saw him show up late on Whose Weddings is it anyway. I am getting my cake from Cakes By Jay and it is so yummy.

A quea quea (don't think i'm spelling it right), is an African tradition that involves drums, dancing, singing, lots of food and games, more drums and african dances.....Its really ritualistic and (i think), its the bride's family way of sending her off...Its done the day before the wedding and ends the morning of the wedding....

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***

I saw the same episode. I was planning to just order a cake (the way we do for birthdays, Mother's day, etc) and have someone take it to the RH before the wedding. I don't need to pay for a consultation (I already know what I want.) I know it sounds a little bootleg but no one will really know except me, whoever picks it up, (and now you all).

Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***

Does it have to be the night before. Have you heard of it any other times. My sister wants one for me but I can't that would be too much for me. My weddiing ends at 1am and the next day we are going on our honeymoon. Also did I mention I have a 10month old.

I don't see any reason why it cannot be a few days before the wedding, but i do know that the tradition is the night before.... and thats when my aunties are throwing mine....
