Re: ***Official African American Brides Thread***
I've worn hair extensions/weaves for almost 5 years straight withOUT a break. Which resulted in badly damaged hair, even though when i started wearing the fake hair, my hair was long and extremely healthy, I dont know why i even started with the weaves. Now, i went to the salon and had my hair weave/extensions removed, and cut my hair down to about 2' long in length.
I hate the fact that i gotta get up every morning and curl my hair.
I need a hair regimen. Please help.

I just checked your photo album. You have so many fabulous ideas! I can't believe you are pressed about the RH. You're wedding is going to be beautiful!
Oh yeah, I like the invites too.
They are very pretty. Especially the belly band.

Yes I agree - Last weekend I didnt do anything wedding and it felt great - Now I am doing small things like addresses and planning my DIY also
You have to give yourself a break every now and then.
Can't wait to see you at the GTG
Me too Bre - The GTG will be a great way to celebrate my birthday
When is your b-day. Mine is May 30. I am having a party 2morrow nite. Yeah i know it is early but FH b-day was also May 15. We have a party every year. By the way he is Disc Jockey so we will have no matter what lol
My FH and I have the same birthday. It was Monday - May 14. We haven't had a party together for the past two years but we always make sure to do something fun! Enjoy your party!

I feel your pain. I've been wearing braids for 8 years straight & my edges are just starting to break. I don't want to get a perm & my natural hair is quite a bit of work. I'm trying to figure out a way to give my edges a break but don't want to give up the ease of braids.

Do you know how to sleep without messing up your hair. That's the skill I acquired when my hair was short. This way you can tie a scarf around the edges and you won't have to curl it every day. Do you have a picture of yourself with the style?

yes Jen, I def recommend at least going out and taking a peek. Someone mentioned beautiful bride in lynbrook is having a sale.. i'm gonna stop in there.. i was surprised at the entire shopping for dresses experience. the bridesmaid dresseds in davids looked like cheap prom wear, the bridal gowns were super heavy and stuffed onto racks, so they were hard to get off the rack to just look at. i was in there 15 minutes. it felt like 2 hours. .so now i know i need to go out every once in a while nad take a peek.. what plans have you been making? so far we've booked the hall and are bout to make our second payment.. that's it though.

Taking a peek can't hurt. I have an idea of what I'm looking for but I've only looked at pictures online. I've booked the hall & made the second payment but haven't done much else yet but research. Now I'm working on a theme, colors & save the date cards. I think I want the save the date cards & invites to have the same theme/colors so I've really focused on that.
