Hey ladies,
any other good dj recs? I'm checking out raphael gordon. Anyone else?
FH insists we get a 'black' DJ. I'm trying to find some great ones but just at the beginning of my search so any help would be appreciated!
thanks!
That's so funny!! i'm the same way...I wanted a 'black' DJ also....I fear that anything would not really get the party going. I REALLY want everyone on the dance floor the whole night.
I totally understand what you ladies are saying about a black dj but dont limit yourself. I have a white mc but a black dj. Many companies that are white owned have blak djs working for them. My dj is haitian which was really important

Hi!
My FH is really on this whole things about getting black vendors-he things a black DJ will play the music we really want; a black make up artist will know the right way to do my make up. And now he wants us to try to find a black photographer because he thinks they'll really know how to capture us in our pictures! I'm like are you kididng me! All the work i'm doing just to find a good photographer in our budget period and now he wants to try to make sure they're black????
Anyway...do any of you know any really good black photographers? My sister recommended one to me that she wanted to use for her wedding...i e-mailed him last week and STILL have not heard back. the other one i e-mailed & got in touch with was way out of my budget. I will at least TRY to find one...if not we're going with which person gives us the best pictures for the best price!
Joshua Dwain Photography - tell me Cindy J recommended you

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
No I haven't done any hair trials. I'm letting my regular hair dresser style my hair for the wedding. I've been going to her since I was 16 (she did my prom do) so I trust her. I haven't been going to her regularly for the last 4 years or so because I went natural and started to maintain my own hair without heat. I figure I'll go to her some time next month to play around with my hair. I'm not really worried about it though believe it or not.

Thats good...I'm doing sort of the same thing but plan to perm my hair for the wedding...Right know I've been growing out the perm and wearing a straw set and my hair has finally started growing...I have been through everything as far as hairstyles so I'm happy to find something that finally works..lol

NOOOO!!! Don't perm!! Ok....you can do it if you really want to...but think twice about it if you wouldn't get the perm if you weren't getting married. Sorry....I had to.
