Hey ladies!! I've been calling around for a makeup artist and they prices they give me seem a little expensive! For the bride I was quoted between 200-350 and 150-175 for the bridal party. Do these prices sound reasonable?
Also I need to find a DJ that plays great music including hip hop, r&b, oldies, and reggae. My dad is from Jamaica and reggae and even a little soca is a must for the wedding!! I also want uplighting and gobo lights. Is this all possible?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello ladies!!So I'm finally ready to book my DJ so please tell me who you have decided to book with and why?
FH is Haitian and I'm American, so we are searching for a DJ that could play EVERYTHING. We really want a DJ that can play old school--r&b--kompa-reggae-reggaeton--hip hop.....
Any suggestions?

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
Hi All, I'm new to the forum. I think this is a great thread. Good job, tetelove. I don't know if you have booked a DJ yet, but I am using MRG Productions. I heard them at another wedding and they did a good job. I also heard Body Rock at a Bridal Show and they were fabulous.I'm looking for someone to sing a Stevie Wonder song at my ceremony. I would like that person to sing and play the piano. Any recommendations?

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
Thanks! I really thought we needed a thread tailored to the African American community. I actually ended up booking Ultimate Sounds. Frank is super nice and we looked him from the moment we met him. As far as a singer..um..no recommendations here. I'm actually looking for a singer myself...so I'll keep you posted. Has any ladies had any makeup trials yet?? Recommendations would be great!

Re: Official African American Brides Thread
i havent booked my makeup or hair person yet! i really like this new hair stylist i found who just put my hair extensions in my hair. I found out she also does wedding hair and wedding makeup but she has a really small salon with just her and another person and i have a party of 12 people (including myself). She said i would have to start at 7am! Thats too early for me!Welcome New Vendors
