Re: Official African American Brides Thread

Ladies , I need a christian church near Westbury Manor. please help!

I'm having a church issue also. I really want to get married in the church that my parents got married in but FH is really not feeling the idea. You see he has a serious issue with the 'decor' of the church. You see, as you walk into my church one of the first things that you see is the walls are covered in wheel chairs, walkers, canes and thousands of other items on the walls of the church.(I know what your thinking.lol) My church does this to symbolize the miracles/healings that have taken place there. Now i have grown up in the church and Im very used to the decor of the church but FH is like 'NO'!!! FH is really not feeling it. FH is Catholic and Im Christian so its really hard for him to understand this whole idea. Now our differences in religion has never been a BIG issue before and we actually make fun over it.

I really want to get married in my church and the more i think about it, it seems like a must. FH thinks it would be easier on guests to have it at one place and because he doesn't like the whole idea of canes on walls(which I totally get.) but I'm very frustrated. What do you ladies think? Are there any other similar issues?

Below are pictures of my church. As well as how the side walls sort of look. Other than the 'stuff on the walls' of the church, it is a BEAUTIFUL church. Thanks ladies,

Tiffany

They really do. My uncle is a pastor and he feels that couples should do marriage counseling ensuring that they will be able to marry in that church.

What do you ladies think of M*I*A. I heard that she does great work......

ive heard great and bad reviews about her she is a lil on the expensive side

I wonder if anyone has recent quotes from her?

Her prices depends on how many people are using her services. My sister had a really large BP and she paid I think 150 or 170 I don't remember but not more than that. She did an AMAZING job with all the girls and my sister. I have a few pics in my album.

I was just thinking of using my own beautician and calling MAC and seeing if they can come to my hotel the morning of

I was thnking about doing that also. I didnt know that MAC could come to your home though. If they can, that would be great. I'm really interested in airbrush makeup. I wonder if they do it there at MAC.

I dont think MAC uses airbrush

I have pics in my album of my make up trial with airbrush....the woman is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

I didnt wash my face for 3day and it remained flawless (I also wore it to a funeral and cried my eyes out...it did not run!!!!)

It was done by Lilly from Bridalgal
bridalgal.com she is in the city but she will travel to you

I saw the fees on her site. Pricey but it looks great!!!

This is a great list!

I was thinking of using Jennifer Hudson's song for our 1st dance.

Anything you'd recommend for walking into the church and leaving the church?

How many of us are getting married at the RH? The reason I am asking is because I have too many in my family who are different religions and My family is all about the drama so I am getting married at the RH just so I don't have to listen and have the service I want.
